I have a few but they are all pretty modern and I am not up to making new clothes There only seem to be a couple of sets out there - I know Leon has done some. Just wanted to make my scenery more alive so if you know of any people macro sets about I'd appreciate a pointer thanks in advance

YES. YES. Lots of peeps around but all in modern clothes. The women are the worst problem; a lot of the ones you can get would be arrested if they went around like that in the twenties or thirties.
This really would do wonders for scenery making.

Hi Api macros are easy to make,I can do a simple poly that rotates to player or a multi poly like the trees, making 3d ppl can be a pain and be a major fps killers, Ive spent nearly a year coming up with a decent pilot for my aircraft projects and am still not happy anyway what have you in mind I can knock up something pretty quickly the only thing I see as a prob is textures I'm lousy at those paint programs cheers Wozza

Hi Wozza - thanks for the offer - if we could find some old photos could they be used as textures>#

Or a starting point anyway. Photos from that period would be black and white, we'd have to colorize them. But why photos necessarily? Colored drawings (I'm thinking maybe from fashion magazines of that time?) would work just as well or maybe better, at that scale. Wouldn't they?

I think you are right - I was actually thinking about some of those posters and drawings done by airlines to publicize their flights.

wozza Hi what program do you use to make the simple poly. maybe if you a mine you could write up a little tutorial on doing it and that way we all can add to the people shortage that is here in this time frame. I have been trying to make people api's and not having any luck.
thanks woody

The rotating or 2D kind are definitely the way to go. 3D figures would just be impossible. They never look right anyway. (Those dummies some people put in the VC always look like those inflatable love dolls from those funny little shops.)
But I've never had a clue how you get that rotating effect.

Hi I use fsds which can compile directly to an api Basically you just make a poly say 6ft high and map a blank texture to it.Then all you do is paint the blank texture rename it then hand edit the bmp name used in the api, this gives the most freedom. The other way is to make multiple api polys mapped to 1 big texture this is cleaner but makes for more repition in the fs9 scene. The rotate to player is a hand edit of the api macro, macros are very simple to edit in plain old notepad, this link will explain it better www.oregon-coast.net/FS2002/rotatetoaircraft/index.htm Cheers Wozza

Hi everyone, All my peeps were made with 2d and rotating to aircraft. The part I hate is to blackout the items around the person to be left with him/her only. I have not had time to seach for new ones, but if someone wants to try this one, or may be from some movie clipping of the era, like Godfather.,,,,,just a thought. www.costumes.org/history/100pages/1930links.htmHope this helps, Leon Louis ps, if you make some, please send me a copy,,,I need them also.

FSDS? I checked that out. FORTY BUCKS! (Insert expletive of choice here; I don't feel like tangling with the censorware again.)
Leon, for forty bucks I will dress up in period costume and go stand around on your airport in the location of your choice myself.
In fact for forty bucks I will dance the Gazotsky at high noon in front of the Imperial War Museum, clad only in a gold-lame jockstrap and playing "Blue Bonnets Over The Border" on a Bolivian nose flute.

My English is not good enough to know if you are mocking me or not. Anyway, fourty bucks in Canadian funds translates to about $68.00 Canadian nowadays. I hope I am not offending anyone if I find this too steep for my wallet. Leon Louis

He's not mocking you Leon - fact is you two are in full agreement that $40US is a lot of money to spend on such a product
