I apologise for placing a request for another jet livery here but I know of nowhere else where I can ask for help. One of Oz Jet's Boeing 737-200's has literally just left the paint shop here (3rd. March) in the new Norfolk Air livery and I was wondering if someone would like to create it for Flight Sim. Eric Cantu's Kittyhawk model seems to be popular so maybe that would be okay for the base? (Norfolk Air fly from the mainland of Oz ..... Brisbane, Sydney and now Newcastle ..... out to Norfolk Island, an Australian possession, in the Pacific www.norfolkair.com/ ). Oh....the logo on the tail represents the Norfolk Island pine tree.......... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araucaria_heterophyllaAnyway, if anyone is interested, here are two photos taken three days ago............... Thanks, Bruce

Nice colors Bruce. I would like to do it but. I'm still working on your Fokker and I have a couple of other planes I am working on at the same time. If no one else volunteers I might do it later. I assumer there is a 737-200 in FS9?

Jogger, That's fine, mate. There's no urgency It's such a cute scheme that I thought I'd ask. Thanks for offering.
I've downloaded Cantu's 737 "Kittyhawk" package and it's a nice model. Just look for his name or for "737 Kittyhawk" and you'll find it. It has to be the -200 because of the engine nacelles.
Regards, Bruce.

I like 200s more than the modern series ones. It's amazing they are still flying after all this decades. The succes of the 200s series to the airline business is far more important than the legendary Dc3, I think.

Have you guys tried the TinMouse II 737-200? Erick Cantu's model is excellent, but this one has more goodies. I've got both on my FS, and the highly detailed TinMouse panel can be used with both models. No idea which is easier to repaint, but I would assume both are relatively "repainter-friendly" judging by the amount of textures available (I'm pretty sure the Norfolk Air scheme has not been done yet for either one). Available as freeware from avsim. Note that the models are a separate download, so at the very least you would need both packages shown below. Support forum and screenshots at: forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=253Cheers, Wayne -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TinMouse II Boeing 737-200ADV V1.2 File Description: V1.2 of the TinMouse II Boeing 737-200, panel/FDE/sounds only, with JT8D-9, -15 and -17 engines modeled. The panel directly integrates the freeware CIVA Delco INS unit (not required, available separately) and SquawkBox 3. Optional integration for the Kittyhawk/FFX models, and optional configuration included for the RealityXP (tm) Garmin GNS-530 and/or WX-500 radar (available separately). Requires FSSound (included) and FSUIPC 3.70 or later (freeware key integrated into the panel). Models available in separate download (no changes since V1.0). Thanks, Wayne. I hadn't downloaded the Tinmouse model but shall have a look at it. I really like the 737-200.......I've used the term "cute" above and can't think of another way to describe it! Maybe it's because is sorta small but everything is in proportion, whereas the later models, with the large, odd-shaped engine nacelles, don't look as neat. Or maybe it's just me! Jogger, please choose whichever is the easiest for you to paint. I don't mind either way. Regards, Bruce

I would have to agree with Bruce and Damian. I much prefer the look and especially the technology level of the -200 series to all the later 737s.
As a general rule, later models of an aircraft look great on paper, but they just don't have the appeal of the early variants. With a few exceptions, like maybe the Comet, since popping apart at cruise altitude isn't very appealing.

I must say that I've always liked the 737-200 as the "best of the bunch" as well - so Bruce, it's not just you - and I guess it's not just me either. I also like and fly a lot of the original series of DC-9s - the little one. They both have always seemed more like 'hot' little jets - then big passenger buses, so to speak.
Erick Cantu's model is the only one I've flown - naturally Delta being the favorite and haven't tried the TinMouse version. I will have to download it and try it out - sounds good.
That Norfoldair paint looks nice, but so does the Fokker paint lifejogger is working on. I just got that plane a week or so ago - looks good and flies nice.
Thanks Wayne for the tip and info.
