I thought I would try a repaint using a photograph as texture. Since the photograph was only of the fuselage I am still trying to figure out how to make the wings match the fuselage. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to respond. jogger

First thing that comes to my mind, and to keep things the easiest as posible, is to enlarge the original photo, two or three times its original size; then select and cut and paste a section you can fit into your wing texture. Later, you'll need some dedication making the texture looks real, use as many layers as you need, and you can repeat the process of cut\paste into many sections as many times you'll want.
To do a good photoreal repaint all you need is a good base photo, transformed in an "orthogonal photo". It's not always possible to transform a photo in a plain front, tho, that's why many photoreal repaints have some "dark zones".
It's looking very good. Try to see what Bob Rivera and Urs Burchhardt had done, they are good at photoreal looking skins.
Or, you can paint the wings straight; may be the fastest way. It's the general look what it counts at the end.
