Dear tohers:

This new thread is open to announce those new paints I'll upload to our Download section from now on. The thread is pinned and closed as it is intended as an information thread only.

Each request for a possible paint done through this forum in other threads, will also be first published here when done, and made available at the TOH Download section later (usually a few days after the paint will be previewed here).

Why to create such a thread? well, mainly to satisfy your requests and more, there are also a few paints I've done through the years and never uploaded anywhere because were fictional or "tests" for new techniques to experiment, or simply done just for fun; a few have already been shared privately with some of you, others not.

All of them have been revised a little to make them something "nicer". I'll update this thread in the future as far as new paints will be ready.

As you can imagine, I'll only focus on vintage and (may be) small GA planes, respecting our "golden time frame": I mean, intended to be flown in Golden Wings 3. Of course, you can install them in your regular FS9 installation or in FS2002 or FSX if you want, but no assistance will be offered other than for our GW3 or FS9 environment.

The "Golden Rule"

Finally chaps, do what you want with them, only two exceptions rules (call it our gentlemen agreement):

1.You are allowed to download and to install this paints for your exclusive use only; do not upload this zips or any part of them to any other site, public or private.

2. You are allowed to modify these paints for your personal use only (example: if you want to add your own registration number or want to paint that fancy red line you add to all your planes) but please do not modify nor use any part of them as a base for a public repaint to be uploaded at a public site for a public use.

Flitflyer corrected cfg

For all those who downloaded the Flitflyer repaint for Bill Lyons's Cubflyers Cub, here is the right "aircraft.cfg" lines to add. The one embebbed in the zip is wrong. Just change the XX with the right numbers (it should be fltsim.1 if you did not added any other repaint)

Here's the Heinkel 178, one the two turbojet planes I have installed in GW3, the other is the Gloster E28. Felipe Belalcazar modeled both
for the sim. He had published other peculiar plane also, the Smith Miniplane and he still has a few in his agenda to develope, so let's cross fingers!

I am very fond of this plane and can't say clearly why, may be because was a taildragger with a jet engine? or is it for those wings and rudder sewed in canvass? of all the prototypes Heinkel built as a private venture, not a single one survived the war.There have been several types of the early Heinkel jets and the first one to fly was the fixed geared one (an emergency measure against a possible engine failure) on August 27, 1939. The plane burned diesel fuel and reached a maximum speed of 585 KM/H. Despite such a succesful performance, the plane did not impressed too much the conservative minds of Ernst Udet and Erhard Milch at the RLM (Reich Aviation Ministry) who did not "promoted" the plane.

Felipe's model is very nice and well rendered for the sim. He did one of the latest testbed planes with retractable gear and a little bigger than the others. I did a new textures set trying to reproduce or to give the idea of how one of those HE178s may have looked like (based in black and white photographs). Then, I asked Stephen Attaway to revise the flight dynamics and he did a wonderful job: now the plane is a joy to fly for those who like to challenge themselves or try something different.

So, this is the "TOH" Heinkel 178 V2, a complete plane with new textures, new FDs, and a new mdl Felipe did for us. The plane has a simple and "spartan" 2D panel and VC with default gauges. Sounds are aliased to the Learjet, but in GW3 you can install the jet sounds you prefer.

One more thing: I want to let you know it is an "open project", if someone would like to create a more detailed vc, you are more than welcome! contact me for details about the source FSDS model. I don't surrender: I'd like to see a detailed top-notch virtual cockpit one day!

And, don't try to take off from an small runway, she needs lot of space.

The Pietenpol. Should I say more? this mythical Bill Lyons's plane is still among my top ten list, and after all these years, is my favourite ride in Golden Wings 3. I know there are several other fans around, so, I was having some fun throwing colours here and there to those canvass fuselages. Three sober and discreet paint schemes in black, red and green.

This the corrected aircraft.cfg (there was a mismatch in the original embebbed in the zip). Copy and paste as usual, overwrite\replace the Black plane paint only.

The Aerospace FU24 (uploaded)

Deane Baunton released an FSX version of this particular plane, the Aerospace FU24. I've done a texture in the TOH colours, just for our members. The textures will work in both versions, but there's a patch to make some gauges appear in FS9.
