Now that I've purchased the Travel Air 6000 add-on from Paul, and as I am a year or two away from needing a really good version of our museum flightsim, I'm interested in a "quick and dirty" repaint that would portray a certain bird. Here is a black and white picture of the historic aircraft in question: Here is a picture of Bill DeCreeft's aircraft, who modeled his paint job on "Smiling Thru": www.airminded.net/ta6000/NC9084_1_tn.jpgYou'll note that he reversed the dark/light colors, and uses two tones of blue instead of green.[/img] The correct colors for the paintjob are unknown. But the lower part was dark green, the upper part was light green, and the wings and empennage were probably the same color orange as the DeCreeft bird modelled in the flightsim. If I were to guess, I'd say the MS Paint light and dark green are pretty darned close to the right colors. I'm willing to experiment on my own, but I am completely new to this, and WILL accept any help that someone wants to do on a repaint. If someone decides to help out, or do the repaint for me, I'll ensure that I attribute your work to the museum. Heck, we are tax-exempt, so maybe we can work something out.

Oh, I left the plane at home...any taker on this one? that's looks very challenging.
And, this is the right place to ask for help just in case you'll want to start to paint by yourself: I'm sure "we" will do a good joob.
Good luck!

I would be willing to do the repaint but you must know that I don't do "quick and dirty" repaints, I do "slow and dirty repaints". There are two other factors in doing this repaint, the first one is my computer is in the shop but I will pick it up tomorrow (Oct. 30). The second is I do not have the Travel Air but this gives me a good reason to buy it. One question, what is the registration number on the tail? NC671R?
Never mind about the number it is NC677K.

That would be really cool. Yep, it's NC677K, and by quick and dirty, I really mean that "beggars can't be choosers."
At some later time, I intend on paying for a very finely detailed version; the original paint job had a TON of writing on it and the interior was "unique".
But for now I'd be happy with a close to correct paint job with "Smiling Thru" and the N-number on it.
I don't think you'll be disappointed with the sim. The Alaska Flying Adventures are really neat.
