Too low, gear..Too low, gear.. Too low, gear... Make it stop!! I had a GPWS installed on my shiny new 182 but it came with an annoyance. I was on approach to land when that distracting chatter came out of my headset. I didn't know how to shut the stupid thing off until I landed! I actually found it sort of funny after it happened but it was sure distracting when it happened! Has this ever happened to any of you? I actually recorded it too, just for the heck of it. media.putfile.com/gpwsYou might actually find it funny too! Happy landings, (If you don't have a GPWS that is... )

Well, I cant see how you landed when hearing that warning. It is telling you to lower your landing gear, so if you still heard it while landing you would have done a belly flop. Maybe you installed it in a fixed gear plane? Or maybe it is not working correctly. Normally you get the gear warning when either you are 1. "to low" and gear is not down, 2. full flaps have been set but gear is not down, 3. engine is at idle and gear is not down... and maybe a few other cases. Basicaly it means you need to lower the gear now.

Yah, I should have resisted the temptation of putting a GPWS in my Cessna 182. I read in a magazine article about a terrain warning system talking randomly in a Cessna 182 so it gave me the idea of setting one up in the sim. I am keeping the GPWS systems to my high performance aircraft now.

You can put one in, just find one that does not have a gear warning sound. If this one uses external sound files (.wav files in the sound folder) just remove the sound file for the gear and you should be OK.
