Have you been wondering what happened to scenery designer Simonov Man? Do you want to challenge your attitudes? tickle your fancy? open your mind? Do you want to read cutting edge science fiction online? These are stories by well known writers that the print magazines won't publish as they spiral downward into political correctness. They will entertain, enlighten, irritate and offend, maybe all at the same time. If any of this sounds interesting, go immediately to www.helixsf.com/ and start reading. It's free, but if you like what Will & Lawrence and the others are doing, please hit that Paypal button and give them a few bucks. I haven't been around much either, but I'm off working on something completely different from Helix. Over there I'm just a satisfied customer. Get over there now!

They will entertain, enlighten, irritate and offend, maybe all at the same time. And this is what Art is all about! thanks! "political correctness": the weakness of today. Let's hope art will help people to cure this virus...

If it weren't for science fiction, I might actually accomplish something ....

Thanks, guys. That is indeed where I've been and what I've been doing since winging my way out of here.
Plus my wife is having some medical problems which require my care, so all in all I just haven't had time. I haven't so much as had a flight sim running in months, let alone made anything new.
I still hope to return some day, maybe later this summer, and perhaps I'll even be able to make some more scenery one of these days.
Meanwhile, since I know some of you are religious, your prayers for my wife would be much appreciated.

Good stuff!
And the name ~Janis Ian~ leaped out at me. "Is it the same Janis Ian, of whom I have several 12" LP record albums sitting in my collection?" I asked myself.
Lo! and Behold! It is the songstress of the Seventies! What a lovely voice she had back then and what a charming little story she has written for Helix.

Prayers for your wife...you've got them. Your story surprised me and I was surprised how many of the characters I THINK I recognised

Tom is being modest. What he isn't telling you is that he was our very first-ever donor. And quite a generous one, too. (In the words of the Scripture, go and do likewise....)
And Bruce, Janis isn't just a seventies singer. She's still very much in business and singing as sweet as ever. In fact she's in the process of producing a new record right now.

... And Bruce, Janis isn't just a seventies singer. She's still very much in business and singing as sweet as ever. ... So I discovered mere days after making that post. A radio station to which I listen quite often just happened to be playing something "recent" by Janis. She sounds as lovely as what I remembered from her earlier recordings. Regards, Bruce

Tom, By ScIFi do you mean like... "theres... something on the wing..... some...... THING................ on the wing!!!" type of ScIFi? I just love when Shatner did it.
