I had tried the trial version of Win XP64 and was pretty happy with it. So after a month of being back in xp32 I went and bought it, and ... wow... the latest version with the latest drivers is screaming fast. I have had a new 3DMark06 record and the two following pisc are showing framerates about 25% faster than its ever been on this system.. the best part is all sliders are maxed, res is 2560x1024 with 4Xaa and 8X AF. This is like buying a whole new computer! Cheers Shad

Win64? does that mean 64 bit? I thought that was a Vista item, and Vista isn't due to be released any time soon.

Yes,, 64 bit... works with AMD and newer Intel.
XP64 was released a while ago. Click the link and give it a try. There are things to consider though.

But I don't understand, I thought Vista was the next step. Now they have XP64? But Direct X 10 won't work on XP64 I am assuming, so FS-X won't run on XP64 like it will on Vista. Oh, if all else fails, read! I guess I better do that now....

As I posted over at SOH, I feel it is very likely DX10 will support Windows XP Professional, at least x64 anyway. It is the MS way to say "no backward compatibility" and still have all their stuff backward compatible...
They really cannot afford not to. Apple is just dying for MS to make a mistake. Esp now they are intel based.
