I'm sure many among you have at least one plane that has been installed in the last two generations of FS. Well, I'm gonna tell you my secret: here's the one that has always been in my hangar, the Fuji Skyship. Since I've discovered this blimp, done by Bill Lyons, I was completely amazed when looking at the virtual cockpit. It was done long before the Goodyear blimp (and, of course, the Zeppelin). This model has some difficulties in FS9 (it's a FS2002 mdl), in fact, the gauges of the VC doesn't show and the flight dynamics has to be tweaked. But I don't care, I fly her very often, and the joy of looking out those windows, is all an experience. Hopfully, this will be the first one to be installed in FSX. This model also had some of the goodies later developped in the Zeppelin, like the ground crew (but a static one.) When inside this model, you have the real sensation you are there, in the middle of the air... The Cabin The Virtual Cockpit The Skyship in FSX! that would be great!

By coincidence, I just had a free flight in the Bell blimp at CYXX the other day. The seats weren't as comfy looking though as those depicted in this blimp. Strange experience, felt more like being in a boat rather than an aircraft. Noisy too.

Wonderful! Bill has always had a knack for the lighter-than-air aircraft. ;D If someone knows how to resolve the "mesh" in the door, and the green gauges in the VC, please let me know...I see the same thing in FS2004. Brian

Hi Brian, I'm afraid there's no way of making the VC gauges to work; it is the mdl code that has to be changed, and only Bill has the key for this "door". It may be possible to create some pop up panels, tho. I was playing with that idea in my head, but then, many other projects come, and always delay it. I will do it some day. How I wish to have a ride in a blimp. Zeppein has launched its new model (a 300 meters ship). If you want to read more, this is Zeppelin's page www.zeppelinflug.de/pages/E/haupt.htmThere's even a webcam and, if you are loucky enough, you may see one of them!

Great pics! nice to know there are others out there who like to take things slow and easy :-) I am enjoying the Graf and also have other airships on most of my other sims, including R34, and the Goodyear blimp in fs2002. I even have the macon package in my cfs2 along with sparrowhawk ! Only thing I seem to lack is a way to learn how to create my own aircraft and scenery, all the tutorials I have found so far are for windows xp. ( I still prefer 98se ). Still, I am one of the lucky ones who found golden wings, and a group who are generous to share their skills. Thanks all.
