I have been seeing that advertised in the aviation magazines lately. I have wondered if it would be something to go watch, but I don't know exactly what it's about. I will have to watch that movie trailer and summary to get a better idea of what goes on the movie. Haven't seen an aviation related movie being advertised like that, in my aviation lifetime that is.

Well, other that seeing Nieuports and Fokkers having the flight dynamics of a Star Wars Naboo Racer, it really looks like a good film. I only hope it will not turn into a "soup opera" drama, like other late war films (like Pear harbour). Nevertheless, I'll go to watch it only to see the planes!

Yes ,of course,I thought I was in fast forward, with this.I tried some of that in my Dave Eckerts Great "Sopwith Camel". It was only then, did I realize, those guys had a lot of time to get into trouble. The salute, was reminiscent of the last scene in the "Great Waldo Pepper"film. Just myth of a different time,I guess! "In Days Of Old When Knights Were Bold" VIN

I watched the trailer, and I am sort of confused about the whole plot. Is it another "Titanic" or a "James Bond"?
Let's limit the singing please! ;D

It´s for sure only one of those b******t movies, where american heroes save the world and where everybody else is a sinister Richthofen-Hun/ exotic idiot (French). In history, this squad of madmen came to the Nieuports after the french pilots had refused them as too bad for combat. Most of those poor patriots where shot down without problems and without any heroism. It´s sure nice to watch the planes --> dozens of red Fokkers LOL - but it´s a titanic (-like) blast of nonsense in any other matter. (See flight dynamics) I personally guess that this is nothing more than one of those tasteless additions to the theme "The Yankees saved the world again". Which I find sad, because I like to see Jean Reno. And Biplanes. But, I do not like this propaganda, especially these days.

Well here I thought Capt. Eddie was an American Hero.Credited with 26, shot down.I wonder if he and those others thought they were doing something right for their country? However now I see he was in error and so were we.Oh well, another Hero, and cause ,shot down.If we keep degrading our intent in world history, and have nothing to believe in,what will become of us.Meanwhile "OTHERS" have no such confusion as to who they are and what there mission is.It could be we need more positive depictions as to this country's story. If we continue to alter our history every few years, and destroy our myths,we will become a "Rudderless" ship of state.Yet,I still believe most, if not all, still hold this countries intentions in highest regard. So many are gone believing that. VIN! PS Compare "Flyboy"with "Hells Angles" the Howard Hughes flim. That was a no gimmick ,real dipiction of WW 1 planes in action.Greatest Stick and Rudder flick I ever seen.
