First of all, a big thank you to all that did and contribute to the Golden Wings 3 pack. I installed it this evening, and it's awsome, really conveying the feeling of a new simulator! Spectacular So I'd just like to ask this: In principle, this concept could be applied to a 3rd install of flight simulator, right? I'd like to have yet another set for 2 reasons: dedicate it to my Classic propliner fleet that add a few decades to GW3, and also because it would save on FS load time due to all the aircraft installed. My other question is: In GW3 is the fsgw.cfg simply triggered by the rename of the fs9.exe to fsgw.exe? Or is there more to it? Thanks! Joao

Hi Joao, Seems to be. I messed about with mine and then removed it to grow a new one...and it did on bootup of FSGW.

In principle, this concept could be applied to a 3rd install of flight simulator, right? Yes, or 4 or 5 etc Yes, it is just that simple. Whatever you rename fs9.exe to will generate a matching cfg. So you could have FS50.exe for your propliners and it would generate an FS50.cfg

Although we can't support it, if you guys come up with a set of instructions, I'll sticky it at the top, but everyone will be on their own using it.

Thanks Everyone! So that's awsome news I'll move my Trimotor's & Junker's fleet into GW3 and will create a separate version for the propliner stuff, keeping everything much lighter. Thanks Bill, Roger and Tom! Eric, roger that!! I'll tell you what I'm doing as I go, and maybe we will be able to present Tom some basic but ordered startup notes. This goes without saying that I have NO intention of copy-cat Bill's work! ... I just want a less cluttered world for my Connies, Martins and all those Classic birds Install the new (old! ) radio-range navigation app, etc. Again, Bill, stunning work. Your attention to detail is great - even the new FS theme you created (icon, splash screen, menu colors) adds to the immersive quality of GW3!

I'd be interested as well in a propliner version for the '50s.

Hi Earl, and all! Well, I'm starting it I called it FSClassics (the main folder, exe, cfg) but I'm doing nothing else than follow Lynn & Bill Lyon's footsteps so all the credits to them PM me if you're interested, if you want to get involved etc. Again, credits to the Lyon's Team and thanks to Tom for hosting this OT

Just to clarify, as it's Monday and I'm being a little slow If I set up a GW installation, a standard FS9 and a.n. other, they will all run separately & quite happily. If there were certain standard addons (for example, the UK VFR Scenery Landclass), could I put them in a folder and reference that folder from within whichever installation I felt needed it? AndyG

AndyG Theoretically, yes. However that is off-topic and not supported here. Anything beyond or besides the FSGW installation and you are totally on your own. As this idea has traveled too far off topic, I am with regret locking this thread.
