The instruction says to: "C. Drag a copy of the fs9.cfg file to the Macromedia folder." I take it this is referring to (for my installation): "D:\FSGW3\Golden Wings Macros"? Also, in step 7-D, it askes me to: " D. Rename the copy to fsgw.cfg and drag it back to the fs9 folder". Do I "copy" it back to my FS9 folder, leaving it also in the "D:\FSGW3\Golden Wings Macros" folder or completely move it from this folder? Gettin' closer! Vic

Actually both bill and I have a macromedia folder nest to the microsoft folder in documents and settings and that is what he was referring to. No matter, any temporary folder will do
When you are done, you only need one copy of FSGW.cfg so move it rather than copying
You should now have an FS9.cfg and a FSGW.cfg in your C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9

I may have done something wrong but the only way I could get FSGW.exe to start, without the FSsound.dll error was to have the config file named "fsgw3.cfg".
With the CFG named this way it seems to start without errors (Yipeeee!). There was already an "fsgw3.cfg" file, next to my FS9.cfg file, probably caused by my jumping the gun and starting FSGW before installing the download (wanted to unactivate addon scenery).
Since it created a cfg I just deleted it and renamed the one I was copying to match it...fsgw3.cfg. I now start up without errors (obviously because the lines for Old_Modules carried over).
I will now start FSGW, de-activete the addon scenery and I think I'm good to go.
I will have another question RE FSNavigator, but will post in a new thread.
Thanks so much for the help, Tom!

Yes, I was un-clear. the cfg must be the same as the exe. FSGW3.exe requires FSGW3.cfg
