Not sure if it's intentional, however when I transmit a message to ATC, there is no sound of the actual transmission, however there is clear sound of the appropriate response. When you make the selection for the return response, again there is no sound, however incoming ATC is clear. No sure if this is intenitonal on the programmers part or not. I've checked all the sound settings, and they correspond with normal settings in FS.
Comments welcome.

Hi Douglas, The idea is to turn atc off...there wasn't any in the GW era . So what you're getting is the remnants of atc. ps glad you could make it. Rog.

Wonder if there's a way to totally kill off the ATC? Noisy rascals, always squawking about my piloting skills and such. Don't see them up there flying about.... ;D

This is off the top of my head, but why not just delete the ATC wav files in FSGW?
Seems to me the only problem would be if we wanted some, but not all, ATC. Deleting all ATC wav files should do the job and clear up a bit of HDD space, if anyone needs more room.
Hmmm, just thinking out loud again, but a mass deletion might disable ATIS, also. Not there was any ATIS in the '30s, of course.
Cheers,
Glenn

Glenn, That should take care of the spoken ATC! If we could figure a way so when the atc button is pushed it says "Sorry, this is the 1930s!" Or something, that would be the best..

that might be possible - lemme have a think. I would need to work throught FSUIPC. Creating a small external program which grabs the appropriate key and sending a message to the screen as Bill describes should work and is not difficult. I have never programmed using FSUIPC internally (i.e. via a gauge) but I know that is also possible (if you have read and understood Pete's stuff on programming that way) Another way is to create a module like Active Camera or FSUIPC itself - I have not done that either

My machine is not currently infected with fsiupc and don't plan on it ever being so again.. I'll try fiddling with ATC again when I get a chance and maybe I can come up with something, Thanks, Bill

Can you not just go to the assignments and kill all the ATC stuff??
I just did it, delete the show ATC window and go to the settings, ATC and uncheck all the boxes!! No windown, no voices!!
Save the flight as default!!

Hi Kimber, That's what I do but we'll still get posts asking about ATC but if we can kill it up front with part of the GW download it will eliminate those posts and make GW more realistic.. May not be a way but just a thought. Best, Bill
