My original post regarding Golden Hawaii was made BEFORE FSGW3 existed and lately has caused some confusion for members so I am re-witing it specifically to make Golden Hawaii a permanent part of FSGW3.
Assuming FSGW3 is already installed, install Golden Hawaii according to Bill's instructions but DO NOT run the switcher program.
Go to FSGW3\Scenery\Ocen and you should find the following folders:
ghtexture hscenery scenery texture
Make a new folder called Mod_Hawaii and MOVE the following files into it:
AB903230 AB904290 AB905240 AB905350 AB905380 AB905390 AB906240 AB906250 AP903230 AP904290 AP905240 AP905350 AP905380 AP905390 AP906240 AP906250 AT9OCEN1 BR9OCEN0 BR9OCEN1 FL903230 FL904290 FL905240 FL905350 FL905380 FL905390 FL906240 FL906250 FL986260 HL903230 HL904290 HL905240 HL905350 HL905380 HL905390 HL906240 HL906250 Honolulu HP903230 HP904290 HP905240 HP905350 HP905380 HP905390 HP906240 HP906250 kilauea NV9OCEN0 oahuTL OB9OCEN0 RD903230 RD904290 RD905240 RD905350 RD905380 RD905390 RD906240 RD906250
Next, COPY the contents of ghtexture into the texture folder and COPY the contents of hscenery into the scenery folder.
DO NOT run the switcher program. You can delete it if you wish as it is not used in this method.
Now Golden Hawaii should be permanently a part of FSGW3
Note - The reason for copying the GH files is to leave a list behind should you ever need to remove them. If you are sure and committed, you can delete ghtexture, hscenery and Mod_Hawaii to save space.

Tom,
Thanks for modifying your instructions. I was able to locate all of the files except for the following:
RD903230 RD904290
I noticed that the textures of the Hawaiian mountains in Golden Wings look different than those in the stand-alone version of Golden Hawaii. In the case of the former, the textures are the ugle Microsoft dark-olive green whereas with the later they are a nice blueish green that goes well for the surrounding mountains.

Tom,
Do you know of any way to make the textures of the mountains look the same in both the stand alone GH and the incorportated version of GH and GW? Please see above post. Thank you for your help.
Sincerely, Walter

Sincerely, Walter Installing GH into GW3 should look no different than installing it into FS9. There should be no difference if all steps were followed. Did you miss this step?: Next, COPY the contents of ghtexture into the texture folder That might account for a difference in ground textures. Otherwise the textures should be identical no matter which version (FS9 or GW3) you are using it with. One other thought occurs to me. In order for GH to be installed properly, GW3 must be installed first, then Golden Hawaii. Here are two pictures of what mine looks like:

Go to FSGW3\Scenery\Ocen and you should find the following folders: ghtexture hscenery scenery texture Make a new folder called Mod_Hawaii and MOVE the following files into it: Hi Tom, I understand this is an old topic - and it's the second time around for me installing GW3 and Golden Hawaii - althought it's the first time trying them together! I'm not sure something isn't working right - followed your instructions to a "T" ... but ... I still have the modern city buildings, I have the Arizona memorial right beside the old ships in Battleship row, etc. Not sure if I have missed something in the translation of adding GH to GW. Also, in the files you mention to move to the Mod_Hawaii folder, I'm also unable to find the two files another member mentioned. One other question, when you say to create a folder called Mod_Hawaii, I presumed it was to be created in the "Ocen" folder - correct? cheers... Mike

Sorry I missed this. Yes, the Mod_Hawaii folder can actually go anywhere, but keeping it in the Ocen folder means you won't have to go looking for it if you need it.
If you still have modern buildings, there are two possible explanations. 1. a file from my list (possibly honolulu.bgl) may not have been moved from scenery to mod_hawaii 2. You have another hawaii scenery installed.
I think those two missing files do not exist so don't worry about them.
I can't trouble shoot this in any detail because my GW/GH install was corrupted and lost. I have not re-installed it as yet, having pretty much moved to FSX.

Hmmmm...it makes me wonder if one can do the same thing with FS9....that is make it permanent and not have to use the switcher,,,,

I'm glad I found this thread. I was wondering how to make GH permit in GW3. Thank you. I love this sim in Golden Wings.
