After a long hiatus from flight simming, following what I thought I had been a devastating loss of all my customised scenery and aircraft, I have resumed flying in GW thanks in part to finding all of my enchancements.
I am encountering a problem with adding GH to GW per the instructions posted on this forum. After installing GW, I noticed that the Hawaii program used to revert back to the modern and vintage scenery and vice versa was correctly installed in my scenery/ocen folder along with the modern and vintage texture and scenery folders. However, I cannot locate any of the modern files, such as AB903230, which are suppose to be located in the orginal scenery folder. I need to remove these files per the installation instructions.
I would appreciate your help to resolve this issue.
Sincerely, Walter Conklin

Walter, I cannot imagine what's gone wrong. There should be a .exe that switches between the two folders and if that works both folders are there. I made the GH default in my GW3 installation so long ago that I cannot remember the folder names.

Are you referring to Tom's New Golden Hawaii Instructions? Did you make your 'new' installs over an old one? Perhaps you had already applied the 'instructions' in which case the files have already been moved/removed. The files you're looking for (assuming they have not already been removed) will only be in the ..\Ocen\scenery\ folder if the GH Switcher is set to 'OriginalMS'. If you are in 'Golden Hawaii' mode, the the files will be in ..\Ocen\msscenery\. In that case run the switcher to set to 'OriginalMS' mode and go through the instructions again. Dave

Hi Dave and Roger,
Yes, I am reffering to Tom's New Golden Hawaii Instructions.
You raise the possibility that I might have already applied the directions and removed the files that I needed to and placed them in the Mod_Hawaii folder. I don't remember as if I did it likely might have happened several months ago, just prior to my computer crash, not to mention I had to salvage GW afterwards. Essentially, I cannot find the files in \Ocen\scenery\ folder. I dont have GW installed on the computer I am now but I seem to recall that the files were not in \Ocen\msscenery either. Interestingly, when I ran the GW .exe program, the switched and associated texture files did extract correctly to my GW scenery/ocen folder so that rules out that I copied them the files to the wrong location. I guess I just need to find a way to start over with a fresh instllation of both GW and GH but I dont know which order I should proceed with to begin the conversion.

If golden_hawaii.exe ( the switcher) is in ..\Scenery\Ocen\...then GH was installed to the right place. Once GH is installed, the switcher works simply by renaming the 4 folders within the ..\Ocen\ folder.
The order you install Golden Wings and Golden Hawaii shouldn't make any difference. There are no scenery or texture files or folders that are common to both installs...i.e.: Golden Wings does not write to ..\Scenery\Ocen\.. Golden Hawaii only writes to ..\Scenery\Ocen\..
As for the files you can't find: they are all default FS files which you could recover from the CDs. The only reason you would need to do this would be if you wanted the ability to switch GH modes between modern and GH.

I think the problem has been solved. Because of the computer crash I experienced a while, I had to use Silver Wings as the foundation for installing GW again. That might account for the missing files.
