It's that word again, AI! Now that I have the DC-3 parking where I want it, I just need the right variation to show up each time. I have a seperate DC-3 AI version folder in my Aircraft folder so I can use it directly with the traffic tools. The aircraft CFG is set correctly, at least I think so, [fltsim.0] title=DC3_FlabobExpress sim=Douglas_DC3_Flabob model= panel= sound= texture=5 atc_id=N103NA atc_id_color=0xffffffff ui_manufacturer=Douglas ui_type="DC-3" ui_variation="Flabob Express" atc_parking_types=RAMP atc_parking_codes=FBX Even with that set up, sometimes an Emerald Airways DC-3 will pop up in that spot! Wait a minute here, that parking is reserved for Flabob Express! This is also happening with a Cessna that has a custom repaint and is set up just like the DC-3 above. Has anyone had this problem before, know how to fix it? Thanks! Kobbe

If there is nowhere else for it to park, an AI aircraft will go into a 'reserved' spot. My guess is that you do not have enough parking spots or in the case of the DC3, enough of the right radius.
Here's a quote from Lee's ReadMe file
"If an airline has more flights arriving at an airport than there is available parking for that airline then an overflow situation will occur and airlines will park in other airline's parking spots. This will cascade until hardly anyone is parking at their own gates. The best solution for this is to schedule AI flights carefully so this doesn't happen; however, at larger airports this can be nearly impossible so the next best solution is to provide numerous uncoded parking spots on empty areas of pavement around the airport, away from the terminal buildings. Since an aircraft will park in an uncoded spot before parking in a spot with the wrong code, any overflow aircraft will go to these ‘holding pens’ before taking up a gate where it shouldn't be."
Does that help?

Hmm..
I really don't think that is the case because not every parking spot is filled up, only 1/3 of them actually. I also only have one DC-3 scheduled to fly to/from RIR so there shouldn't be a conflict there.
AI traffic can be so mysterious in its actions sometimes... ;D

As rollerball mentioned, do you have other parking available that is big enough for the other dc3 to use?
?? Is the custom Cessna parking in the DC3's spot or are other ac parking in the custom Cessna's spot?

There are no other spots big enough for a DC-3, but when I didn't have a reserved spot for the Flabob version, the DC-3 would park in the GA ramps.
I don't think I have any other traffic set to fly a DC-3 to Flabob, and since the same thing is happening with the Cessna then I think something else is happening.
The same exact model (Cessna 182) keeps parking in the spot I want my custom 182 to park in.
The repaints aren't working right with the AI...
Hmm...
The right airplane shows up, but the wrong colors.
Ah, need to investigate some more.

I would up the size of another spot or 2 to handle a dc3 (15m radius on deault dc3's). Ref. the custom C182: Make sure in the aircraft.cfg file, [fltsim.x] section, that the 'title=' entry is unique and that the entry in the aircraft.txt source file for TTools is an exact match (AC#x,XXX,"this must match"). There are flights to KRIR in the default flightplans. For trouble shooting your flightplan it might help to disable all other flightplans. (default location .......\Scenery\World\scenery\...just move from the sim or change the extension, ex: 'traffic030528.bgl' rename to traffic030528.bbb') A tool that is helpful in trouble shooting flightplans is the Traffic Toolbox SDK. The 'Explorer', available from the FS flight window Alt menu>Tools, can give you all sorts of usefull info on active ai. Dave

Hi Dave, I hid all other traffic files as you said to and sure enough nothing shows up in those parking spaces. I have no clue why a DC-3 would be flying in to Flabob by default but that's a mystery solved and we can deal with that. ;D Now, however, the airplanes that I wanted to show up in those parking spaces (They did show up there occasionly, before hand) won't show up at all. The mysterious workings of AI! I have tried using known-to-be-working air and cfg files in the AI plane's folder and it still doesnt work. Strange how it worked before but now it doesnt! At least I know it can be done, but the problem is finding out how to get it done... Thanks for the help Dave, KObbe
