That's it, I am trying to delete the default roads in GW3 in my region. I found the roads are bgls located in the Scenery\Eurw\scenery folder, starting with "RD" /for example, RD940180); my intention now is to kill the railroads and rivers and lakes....only to place them more accurately at least in my small piece of homeland.
Wich folders do I have to move? I've seen there are some "FL" "HP" "Hl", etc; I suspect those bgls display other items in the scenery.
THanks in advance.

Yep, the default roads, railways, streams and power lines are really ugly. Delete the files beginning with RD RR ST and UT. Back-up everthing of course and watchout for city bgls mixed in. Cheers

So what you want to do is delete the default roads, rivers and lakes, then place new ones?
It would probably be best to make exclude files with Sbuilder, since that's the program you'll use to make the new lakes and roads anyway.
You use a polygonal exclude and select the layers to be excluded (It has a list with definitions).
Do you have a general idea on how to use Sbuilder?

Sbuilder is completely useless here ( or at least I could not managed myself to do what I want ). Anyway, you can't even change the landclass around LIPB...that part of the world acts and reacts like a stand alone scenery, wich is very strange.
As RD means "roads", I assume "RR" means railroads, "ST" is for streams, but what does UT means? and rivers? where are the rivers?

FL are flattens, HL Hydrolines, PK is parks, RD is roads, ST is streams, UT is Utility lines, RR is railroads, HP Hydro-polygons that's about it, the rest is pretty much airport data. I may have forgot one or two but I think I covered the ones you may have been looking for Damian. Of course, the numbering stays the same for the same area, HL190128 is hydrolines for the same area as roads RD190128.

I certainly would not start removing any default files. As Kobbe suggests you need to create some exclusion polys that exclude by layer. SBuilder is is the tool I use for that but I think you can do the same in Ground2k4 and there may be other tools as wekk

The only real problem I had when I removed those files from the default scenery in the Old Ohio Airport series was you have to plan to do the whole area that you removed, and that can extend quite a way n/s e/w, so plan on spending some time with it. The exclude polys will be a more localized way to remove the default roads, and hydro entities. I try to use excludes to a minimum, cause of the problems they can create. Good luck on your quest Damian, and remember, we are always here to help.......

Guys, I am not doing a scenery but only acquiring info about what each bgl does; in fact, I have to admit i quitted from scenery building time ago. When I tried to do excludes with Sbuilder around LIPB, it worked fine; Sbuikder did the trick also when changing some landclass in the north part of the airport but there was no way of editing the south region, always showing grass...when actually it's a rural zone. Anyway, I'll give a try one of these days. I'll have to find where the default LIPB is located fisrt in the Eurw library. BTW, thanks to aircoaster info, I deleted the roads and utility lines in GW3; there's no reason to have highways installed there. My GW3 install is deeply customized. This morning I went ahead and bought Ultimate Terrrain for Europe; will go in my modern FS9 install. I'm curious to see if it really does change roads and rivers around my "Heimat Bozen". The slow learning curve...this only happens in summertime...
