Hey guys. When making an exclude in sbuilder, does anyone know the layer number for taxiway signs? Even better yet would be a list of just what default objects are in each layer. Any help would be appreciated much! This is for FS9 by the way.

You have to use the Exc tool, not VTP poly exclusion. When you define the area a pop up will come up and you can tick the boxes of the things you want to exclude. I have found that it doesn't always exclude just the certain thing you selected, so I always use "All Objects" with no trouble.

Kobbe is correct. Taxi signs are scenery objects. However in FS9 that are all based off a single reference sign (or at large airports maybe more than one) Excluding the reference sign will exclude all the signs at a given airport. Removing a single sign is not really possible. The situation is better in FSX where signs can be individually excluded.
One way of dealing with this is to decompile the bgl file containing the airport and extract the XML (my SDE tool can do this or NewBglAnalyze or BglXml) remove the sign(s) you want to lose from the xml and then compile again using the FS9 BglComp (SDE only compiles to FSX).

Thanks guys. I wonder why exclude builder II can never remove the signs? I will try it with SBuilder. So I guess for bridges and such (other autogen) the best way is still with the VTP poly exclusion, right?
Next thing I need to learn how to do is lay my custom ground textures like runways etc. using sbuilder. That will come soon. Is there any good tutorials on doing that out there?

For autogen, I don't believe you can use VTP polys to exclude. You still have to use that big square exclusion. Laying out custom runway textures with sbuilder? That's really not the way to go, unless you mean using default VTP textures like dirt, grass, etc. I've made custom textures (Like the FLABOB 122.8 on the Flabob runway) with SBuilder but for runways or anything big like that it wouldn't be practical. If you're still interested in tutorials for VTP polygons, go to scruffy's website and there is a video tutorial on there that I made. Along with others that explain how to make fencelines, VTP roads, triggers, and both types of exclusions. scruffyduckscenery.co.uk/ -Under the Tutorials section-

OK, thanks a bunch Kobbe. Glad to see the fires are burning out over there. Hope they catch the bums that started them.
