Bonjour, Found an interesting website dedicated to the history of L'Aeropostale. Lots of photos and info (in French) --- worth a look if you're interested in the old mail routes. remb.free.fr/Wayne

Wayne, That is indeed an interesting site. I have some material I'm trying to finish for the Beacon on Aeropostale and Aierennes Lignes. Soon, I hope.
This should be good stuff to discuss around here.

Very little is available about the Frenchies, so, this is a very welcome HU! Thanks!

Yes, sadly that is true, Devil. I have been looking all around the web today for a nice, detailed routemap between Dakar and Barcelona - and not even the beacon has one I installed Alexander Belov´s "Aeropostale Raid" and want to take the old routes back to europe after exploring the canaries for a while. Meanwhile I just follow the coastline up north from Cape Juby, one leg takes about 3 hours flighttime in my biplane. If needed, I can scan some of the southamerican routes - had a good read about Saint-Ex 1929/1930 in Buenos Aires recently. (He really was a strange guy!) And BTW, is there one of the original planes out for FS with a detailed VC? I tried some of those beautiful Breguet´s and Laté´s here and there, but as a VC-flyer I did not like them so much.

Hi Royce, I just left Casablanca heading in opposite direction. Casablanca was cool: Humphrey and Ingrid were there, too. Would like to meet Burroughs in Tanger... ;D
