....I find your comments interesting, even if I don't know what "desent" means ... I am pretty sure he meant to write "dissent", Damian. Bruce.

Ahh...dissent. Well, it's very funny because with four languages and 2 local dialects running in the background of my brains, when I come in front of a single word that doesn't match my "online" memory dictionary...I go in tilt! everything stops and I feel the urgent need for vacations...or more caffeine ;D
Dissent is good and welcome here, I promote dissent and "dissenters" (?) all the time. At least until they don't dissent tooo muuch and for a looong time....and that's exactly the moment I like the most: the "delete" thread and "ban" member... ;D

With me, its much developing instead of flying. There were some memorable 'as real as it gets' flights that I can still remember today, like the time I landed at night in deep fog at Heathrow on ILS in a 747, or the first time I crossed the Atlantic properly in the Concord, making the transition to sonic speed smoothly for once instead of going into a slight stall.
I sip some red wine at night. I cannot handle the hard stuff, though it used to be Bacardi, lol, (back in my ole car design days). Pop-corn (I know, with red wine, lol) is my snack of choice late in the night. Unfortunately, I cant do good modelling after wine, so I have to retire to testing and making notes, like you said Wozza. Notes for the next mornings work.
Doing scenery too, I guess I rarely use it much 'right after' I make it. However, sometimes, with the nice stuff, I can use it as a saved default location (along with others) for when I am testing. (Seatle gets a little boring after a couple of years).
The only time it seems its fun to fly and you have to 'stay' at the controls is when I am flying online with the guys at SOH. Some of the conversations are hilarious. I have a friend in NZ that I used to fly with often and those were fun times, checking out airfields in his country and showing him Phoenix and LA over here.
Now and then, though, I do a fun flight. Get all ready, plot my course and VOR waypoints, and do a flight. Amazingly, this is the only time my computer will crash in the middle of a flight, LOLOL...! Go figure...

Yeah, Yeah, Yean.....I find myself flying test flights arround my scenery and others. The fun part to me is getting the Dag gum thing to do what I want it to do.....HA, HA, HA, never happens the first time. But all things considered, if I fly or don't fly the enjoyment of modeling, creating, painting, and testing is worth the cost of admission into this hobbie of ours.

Hiyas,
I guess I like to design more than fly, but I also enjoy the flying too. If you create scenery to use with your flying skills, and it becomes common place, then isn't that the same thing as default scenery. I have flown in, and out of Bab's Field many times during the process of creating it, and I have altered, and added to it as time has gone by. I seem to never get bored with it, but then I usually don't fly just in that regional area. I am going either to, or from the field.
Maybe it is the way you approach the design process. Sure, the process of creation always has you on the edge of your seat, unless you hit a snag. Then you are beating your brains out trying to figure out what you have done wrong, or what you left out of the process. Then is a good time to take a break, and go back to the latest backup of the scenery, and try to enjoy what is already working. Not only does this give you time to enjoy what you have created, but it may give you some insight on what you may have screwed up. Plus there are many things you never see, or experience when you are in Slew Mode, that you will when flying.
Maybe not the designer's point of view, and maybe not the best answer, but geez, I had to squeeze another post in here somewhere just so you guys wouldn't forget me. Actually, it is the Dumb Blonde's point of view, so read it for what it is worth...... * giggles*.
HUGS....... Barb
