J. D. Hmmmm So I'm flying this charter back in the '70s and we land for fuel in Lincoln, NE where we're supposed to get a boxed lunch. Sure enough, up comes the fuel guy who passes two white boxes into the cockpit. One is labled J. D. D***, I thought as I set mine aside, these guys are good, they even have our initials on our lunches. We finish the paperwork, close the doors, and blast off eastbound. After leveling off at 33,000, I reach down for my gourmet repast, only to open the box and discover a quart of Jack Daniels. !!! So much for lunch.
I don't drink. Today that bottle sits unopened as a bookend to my collection of histories of the American West. Seemed appropriate.

I've been known to raise a glass of cheer on occasion, but only if I'm alone or with someone. Good story Jim, I suppose the fuel guy just naturally assumed you wanted a liquid lunch. Why would anyone want to get any higher than 33K though!!? Rgds: Jeff

Well, at 41,000' you can actually see the curvature of the earth .... However it is much nicer to be clearheaded when admiring the view.

......well,,,,,that's enough of THAT pun....ishment!! Say....I just read the readme (usually takes a month, consider yourselves lucky), and I see Steve Myers has joined the GAS Team. To quote my Sainted Mother 'That's Frikkin' Fantastic"! I would've eaten my stockings before I thought that GAS Virtual Vintage Beauties could get any better, but where there's a will..there's a way. Congratulations! Now where's those old gym socks....... Hmmm...just had a random...with all that high powered talent concentrated at GAS, perhaps your next project should be a blimp or Zeppelin et al. When you guys get together to chat, you've gotta generate enough hot air to make anything float! ;D ;D ;D Rgds: Jeff

Steve Myers has joined the team, eh? I thought I recognized parts of these WACOS from some long ago screen shots. I'm sure he'll fit right in with your excellent team. JLPhoto

No, thank you Steve, I'm sure JL and I aren't the only members here that're just pure-d delighted to see you on the GAS team! Could this pehaps mean that there's a miniscule chance that there might conceivably be a remote possibility of a future update or renewal of one of the most beautiful Golden Age aircraft to grace the thermals of FS? "Could this pehaps mean that there's a miniscule chance that there might conceivably be a remote possibility of a future update or renewal..." Well, I don't have the original FS2000 files any more, but I've had enough favorable response to the Davis that I've considered doing another. Same with the Fleet. Trouble is, I work really slow, and I'm still in FS9/GW3. Interest in FS9 may taper off as FSX becomes the standard. By the time I'd finish they'd be up to FSbazillion. I sure appreciate your comments, though. smyers

Take all the time in the world, Steve, your planes are well worth the wait. These two have been in the works for 9 months, with at least two more to go. And they're built for FS9/GW3.
