Geez thanks Jim! I just spent a virtual fortune virtually buying an immense virtual hangar to house all my virtual WACO's, now I'm going to have to buy another one for the DeHavilland's. You're turning me into a virtual pauper! ;D Beautiful work, and Moth welcome.

Your Moths are terrific, Jim, and your comments encouraging. I do have a Warner engine to use, but I'll have to wrap up my Meyers OTW first. I'm a little stuck doing the VC and moving those parts to the main model. Just tedious work. Then I really should finish the Fleet. I'm struggling with the underwing fuel guage on that one. At least the Davis has only one wing and no external rigging, so it might go a little faster. I'm still surprised at the positive feedback I've had on the FS2002 version.

Thanks for the kind words, folks. Have patience; I'm really slow.
The reason you keep getting positive feedback on your Davis, Steve, is because it's so good no one believes it was really built for FS2002. My Moths might look good when standing alone, but compared to your Davis, Ryan, and what I've seen of the OTW, they're crude. There's a reason I build early - and crude - airplanes!
What kind of fuel gauge are you making? I have an underwing dial gauge you're welcome to use (though you'll have to do a bitmap that doesn't say Curtiss) and I think I know where I can find an underwing glass tube gauge the designers would be willing to share. If I can help, just ask.

Thanks again, Jim, for your compliments. They are very much appreciated. Though I must say I think your Moths are anything but crude, and I'm certain they'll be very well received when released. They sure look great to me.
I'm trying to get (or build) a tube-type fuel gauge similar to the one on the QCF or Stearman and many other types. The gauge I built will work, but I'd like to try a better quality one for the Fleet. Mine is based on the J-3 gauge. I tried to get Dave Eckerts' Stearman gauge, but haven't been able to reach him. I don't know that he's still active, though his site is still up. Any help would be most welcome.

Thanks, Jim, it's most appreciated Here's a couple of shots of my existing gauge for you to see. One is the fuel at 100%, the other at about 30%. The prototype is a glass tube within a brass sleeve. I don't remember the aircraft. The level indicator is from the J-3. Because you can't see through the "brass", I can use the gauge on the exterior model as well. That's the best feature of this gauge. Best smyers

Looks good, Steve. I must admit, though, that I was always nervous when seeing such gauges on real airplanes. I just had this mental picture of what would happen if a bird strike took one out ....

Well, no one ever said these things were fast - and building them isn't either. Don't hold your breath, it'll probably be another 6 weeks, but some progress has been made.

I can already feel the bugs hitting the teeth between my big smiling lips Jim!! In fact, I can almost see the little warning placard in the cockpit reading "Please do not rest your left arm outside the cockpit area". ;D
