I will get it, and as Tom says probably a 64bit Vista machine as well - my current machine will be reaching it's sell by date then. Mainly I will get it because of my interest in writing utilities and designing gscenery for FS. In truth I do not fly much. I will certainly keep GW3 (I no longer use FS9

I have too much going for me witrh me present computer and FS 9 I'll get FS X, but probably piddle with it unless it is fps friendly. But with FSGenesis + Ultimate Terrain + Bird's Eye View, FS X us still going to be hard press for screen candy like this.

As I won't be able to afford a new comp anytime in the forseeable future, I'll be sticking with FS9. Besides, I've almost two years worth of work in turning FS2004 & Golden Wings into FS1954 and probably at least 6 months more to go before it's being close to finished. (I'm not that fast a worker)
As mentioned above, there's folks still designing for FS98, CFS-1 & 2, etc.

I think each new generation of FS leaves a few people behind. I would like The Old Hangar to be a place where FS9 users can be comfortable far into the future. We'll put up another hangar for FS-X when it is released and keep this one for FS9/FSGW3 and its offspring

Can't load it (DVD) probably cant run it. Can't afford a new `puter even if I build it. So if the forums dry up and no one cares can't do a thin about it.

Now that I have gotten certain things out of the way, I am planning on saving up to get a new CPU for my current machine, but I don't plan on moving up to 64bit for a while yet. It's taken Microsoft a very long time to come up with a stable 32 bit operating system and I've been thinking about it and I'm just not ready to give it up for a new untried operating system at this time. I might grab FSX out of curiosity to see how it preforms on a fast 32 bit system though. That said, I don't think interest in FS9 is going to vanish over night. There are still sites devoted to FS8 and many developers still sell FS8 versions of their software. I'm hoping this trend will continue with FS9.

I simply cannot afford another PC just for FSX. The screenshots are very pretty, indeed, but I just can't do it. I barely have a job anymore. I have a hefty 32bit PC, so if it'll work, I'll probably try it.
I would also miss the antique world of GW3 too much. It looks like back to the future for FSX, and I, for one, would rather stay here. If it weren't for the ability to add on our old stuff, I'd be building plastic, instead. And what about building add-ons? Will we be able to do so with our existing tools?
By the way, has anyone noticed the increase in FS98 freeware over at Flightsim.com lately?
Best, Everyone, smyers
