I was wondering if anyone has been able to edit traffic in FS-X. I haven't received my copy yet, but would very much like to get a jump on putting traffic and AFCADs together.
On the same subject, has anyone had any luck working with the AFCADs?

As of this moment, TTools and AFCAD2 will not talk to FSX and I have heard that Lee Swordy has left the hobby. AFCADs and Traffic created for FS9 do work (~75%) (I have Henry T's Cessnas working) but I understand there are some risks involved with redesigning airports with AFCAD2. You will want to become active at www.fsdeveloper.com/ as that is likely to be the source of new utilities to replace TTools/AFCAD

.... left the hobby. That's sad news. As FS becomes more and more a business you will see more and more leaving the hobby. Sad but true sign of "progress."

Another factor could be that with each new version, the learning curve gets higher and simmers expectations do as well. Used to be for scenery you could open up FSSC, place a few macros and some trees, boom, instant scenery. Whole other ballgame now, LOL While I can't imagine not having a working TTools or AFCAD, I'm sure a solution will be found sooner or later, possibly with the SimConnect tool.

There are several of us looking at scenery tools for FSX. One of the first things is to understand the changed formats for scenery bgl and other files. With each release MS updates (changes, improves, mucks about with - pick your phrase the formats but it is not usual that they will release the file format as they are proprietary. I have just started working on this kind of 'decompiling' and it is not for the faint hearted. Fortunately there are some very clever people out there and hopefully these formats will be understood soon. From what I have seen the scenery bgl format is not very different from the FS9 one. I am sure that there will be replacements of some sort for both AFCAD and TTools, maybe soon, maybe in a little while. Lee made the source of TTools available but not that of AFCAD2 which is a complex program so replacing it is almost going to be from scratch.

Thanks for the responses guys! I hope to keep Alaska AFCADs going.
Although, I still need to get the last FS2004 version out before I get going on FS-X!
