I bought a DVD ROM and installed it on my computer so I could install FSX which I did. Here a two screen shots comparing FSX to FX9. FSX has mostly low settins with a couple of normal settings with 38 mesh and a frame rates of 15. FS9 has three fourths to max settings with Genisus 38 mesh, UT Canada Alaska and Ground Enviroment with frame rates of 20. Which looks better? Both picts are at Sitka.

At high settings, FS9 can't compare....But at low settings, it's tough to tell..

That is a tough one. Mesh looks better in the second pic, but overall I like the look of the first one better --- maybe it's the textures.

They both look good.If a little haze were thrown in,they could appear almost indistinguishable. These clear, Eagle eye views ,however revel great detail. The "Neighborhood with roads" in the second pic ,is there a town there? The true test is a real photo for comparison. But on the Sim, both to me are acceptable. VIN

The one on the top looks completely artificial, the one on the bottom lookes like mine. The top is FSX? FS9 with even freeware addons looks and performs better than FSX, IMO with the exception of water, which is quite stunning in FSX (at max detail). The rest... not so much. However, given that the engine has not really been rewriten, there may be a day where fs9 water looks as good. One can hope anyway Cheers Shad

One can hope anyway I think that FS9 is already heading the way of FS2002 and all those before it - the sandbars have moved and it will slowly sink into the shoreline. I do not see any developers who are not now focussed on FSX. Me included

"The "Neighborhood with roads" in the second pic ,is there a town there?"
Yes, that is Sitka, Alaska. Those are the roads of the town as presented by the UT - Canada Alaska add on.
"The one on the top looks completely artificial, the one on the bottom lookes like mine. The top is FSX?"
Yes, the on at the top is FXS.

I do not imagine I will have a machine capable of filming FSX for many moons to come. However, I am going to show you all just how beautiful FS9 really is - see next film (Louisiana Fall). ;D
