Just uploaded to Avsim.com and Flightsim.com. dh89-46.zip ====================================== A letter in the September edition of "Aeroplane" was the inspiration for the creation of this Flight. Ronald Neal flew as part of the crew on a delivery flight of a De Havilland Dragon Rapide from Marseille to Beirut and listed the refuelling stops across the top of Africa. This occurred not too long after the end of World War 2.
I have started the journey at Croydon, with the first stop being St. Nazaire, the port on the east coast of France from which German U-boats ventured. The next stop is Marseille and then the stops referred to in the letter, namely Ajaccio, Tunis, Castel Benito, Marble Arch, Benina, El Adem, Matruh and Heliopolis (Cairo). Thence to Beirut. Most of the airfields were RAAF or USAAF bases and some have since changed names or disappeared forever, in which case I have used the closest current airport to the original location.
Dave Garwood created a lovely model of the DH89a for FS2004 and you can find that - and many excellent repaints - on Avsim.com. Look for fs9_dh89.zip. ========================================

Bruce- This looks like a great historical flight to replicate.
Addendum- I am having a difficult time logging into this forum thread from the main board. Can click on the last post and get that..or go into your personal page and get the last several posts..but can't get in from the "Flights and missions.." title. I'm on the eastcoast US..has anyone else reported any difficulties? Tried doing this from three different PC's with the same result.
Regards, Royce

Royce, "Aeroplane" has some great stuff on which to base Flights and when the info comes from someone's personal experience, it's even better. Sorry that I can't help you with your accessing problem as I am not experiencing it. Sometimes I get a slow-motion situation but I think that's just due to traffic. Bruce
