It's only about 60 miles as the crow flys .. but closer to 100 when you take into account weaviing your way through the mountain canyons. A fun flight from Omak Airport - Omak, Washington to the fictious, Pancake Field, KPCK - my home ariport. Using Washington State mesh and some nifty "difficult" fields (Posted the designer elsewhere here .. forgot his name ... ) I added some hangars and a few other little goddies to Omak Airport ... The flight is one of glancing at the map to know gererally where it is you are headed --- the picking the right canyons to get you there. Final to runway 32 I did add a few little goodies to Pancake Field ... namely a few houses, a camp area (not shown) and an FBO and such at one end of the field Dale

Great shots!. I believe its James Belk who did the scenery. I really like the challenge of his short, bent and sloping runways. Box canyon is just nuts in a non-stol plane. In one direction if you don't hold 1500fpm to about 7000ft 'you ain't gonna make it mate'. I put a subaru flat 4 in the default cub so I'm good to go! Cheers.

Yep.... exactly. Tmesh is by Holger Sandmann ... INterestingly some of James' aristrips are cut off by huge drop offs .. just a few, Have learned first visit those with the Bell ... one in particular, Raptor's Aerie ... had two "runways" .. not really interupted but I changed it a bit ... placing two helipads on one of them leaving the other in tact .. and adding a few "science research" buildings and a microwave antenna ... Have really taken a shinning to Pancake Field ... rests in such a pretty narrow valley there is a road ... most probably representing a county road, that is a PERFECT nav tool. As most ALL flying in that area is VFR it makes a great reference point for finding one's way back home. Have been thinking seriously of taking the Bell up again and flying the road up and down the valley, to drop down a place a few homes, and out buildings. THe stip at Pancake is great .. good condition, paved and light and just long enough for single engine aircraft and single engine tubros, like the TBM (My favorite), the PC-12, and the Caravan. For traffic (overal) I use GATraffic ... so I get the occasional Piper, Bellanca, a few Cessna Taildraggers and the odd 172 that drop in. I am certainly more hesitant now to submit screen shots, as my computer is not a "mega machine" -- I wish it were, and most all are making the switch to FSX ... and the quality with that is most impressive.

Here I am at Pancake Field- nice shoot too considering my laptop has a 1.43Ghz Celeron M with integrated graphics and 512Mb of Ram lol. Cheers P.S 21 fps with sliders mostly right, frame easy clouds, no traffic and much tweaking.
