Courtesy of Lionheart's wonderful Junkers W33 (on skis and in FSX), these screenshots capture the essence of cargo flight in Northern Norway, from Narvik to Valan with stops at Tromso and Hammerfest. This is midwinter and the sun hardly gets over the horizon so we have to make a start, even if the the weather is dodgy. Leaving Narvik we head out throught the Fjords and Islands towards the coast. occassionally we rise above the snow flurries but it's difficult to keep the engine power up as the air is so cold. The scenery is magnificent when you can see it. Aproaching Tromso is fairly straightfoward. After unloading some of the supplies and loading other items for Hammerfest and Valan, we continue up the coast. Map and compass start to get a bit distorted up here, but there are enough clear weather patches to confirm our position and we soon see the runway at Hammerfest appear, though it is short. After another offload and some more bits and pieces added to our cargo hold, we are off again. Now we near the North Cape. Off the port wing, any signpost would point to Spitzbergen and Alaska! Landing at Valan, with the weather deteriorating again. An exhausting flight but we have to go back to Narvik tomorrow with another load. Leyland

Absolutely beautiful screenshots, Leyland! Especially the first and tenth - they look like paintings - really set the atmospheric mood for a relaxing warm drink or two! Incredible! Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Thanks Dan, they aren't even retouched, just trimmed around some edges to cut off some 'boring bits'. I do normally 'enhance' pictures a little, but I thought these were 'man enough' to stand on their own. Starting to find some plus points in FSX at last! Leyland
