Bruce, I thought I'd go ahead and accept your invitation to post the adventure legs here. I had planned to use the Comox VOR in this flight, but it turned out to only be a DME in Xplane, so instead I slaved the VOR gauge to the GPS and used that as though I was using a VOR (actually there is no map in the GPS I have so this is the easiest way to use it. ) The second leg on this trip was a short one of only 30 minutes, but very enjoyable. The weather was much better today allowing for some nice site seeing. This flight was from Qaulicum Beach (CAT4) to Powell River (CYPW) using Comox as a navigational land mark. CYPW has a runway, but my plans were to land at the docks. Here is the route I took; Getting ready to leave Qaulicum Beach. The weather was cold but visibility was much better today. Spotted this interesting little SPB and camp while heading up the coast of Vancouver Island. I'll have to make a stop there and check it out some day. Passing over Comox Airport. Need to turn here and cross the Strait of Georgia. Coming in at Powell River. despite the nice weather, the water was so rough that I thought it was going to throw my plane head over backward. Fortunately I managed to keep control of it. ;D One of my intentions is to use real weather for the entire trip to Juneau, so it was a treat to get some nice weather today. Hey, Bruce, if you wish, feel free to post some shots of your own trip .

Kevin, Thanks for the invite to join in with GW3. Here's a series of shots.....all in GW3 and with the Trike. Ready to climb aboard and depart Qualicum Beach. This is the route map in FSNavigator..... Leaving Qualicum Beach..... The view up the waterway, towards Comox, from the 'office'.... Enroute Comox..... Using real weather, and there is a shower ahead (well, at least the cloud base is down to water-level!)... www.netspeed.com.au/bhk/to-juneau/shower ahead.jpg[/img] The turning point of Comox airstrip..... Arriving at Powell River. I opted for the landing strip rather than the water. www.netspeed.com.au/bhk/to-juneau/powell river.jpg[/img] www.netspeed.com.au/bhk/to-juneau/approach powell river.jpg[/img] Bruce.

I was listening to a 2-hour compilation I'd put together some time ago, of 50's & 60's hit-parade selections. Bruce

Thanks for the comments Hey, Bruce, thanks for sharing the pictures. I enjoyed comparing them. It was like looking at the same flight but from different times. Sorry about the delay in responding, I was hit by a rather severe (for my area) storm last Friday and my internet has been out until today when they had someone come out and fix it. Seems that water leaked into the wireless equipment on my roof. My roof which has faced mostly hot dry d routs for the last few years was not up to the storm either and we have a number of leaks to repair. Thanks to God that the damage was a lot less than it could have been. I plan to upload the next leg of this flight today.

As of yesterday I think the leaks are fixed, but I'll have to wait until the next rain to be 100% sure. ;D The ceiling itself won't be to hard to fix as it is made of the 2' square sections like the type that are often seen in offices. I just got to take out the bad sections and place in new ones once I'm sure the leaks are fixed.
