A while back I had to remove VOZ from my installation of FS9 as it kept conflicting with my other sceneries (basically they kept erasing parts of each other) and my flight around Australia got put on hold. With the release of a version of VOZ for FSX I can now go back and finish my trip. FSX has been collecting virtual dust on sectors in the back of my hard drive, so it's nice to find something to actually give me a reason to use it. I decided to get Digital Aviation's FSX version of thier Dornier DO-27 since this is the plane I have been using for this flight. As with most of the purchases I've made for FSX, this was a real disappointment as this was nothing but the FS9 version fixed to run in FSX (which I could have done myself.) Since it was not truely a FSX plane it is rather frame rate demanding, but there is not a lot to drag the frame rates down over much of Australia, so it'll do the job. To test things out I did a short flight from where I left off at Kowanyama to Porwpuraaw (if I got the names right.)

Now those colours look like that part of Oz. Bruce I like how they look. FSX is now running better too as I just installed a new sound card in hopes of fixing that sound problem I was having with MSTS, and it seems to have improved my overall computer performance. I hadn't realized just how much CPU power my onboard sound was draining.

That's good news, Kevin. What brand is the sound-card?

That's good news, Kevin. What brand is the sound-card? Bruce The card I got is a Creative Labs Soundblaster Audigy SE. A rather cheap card that sells for 30USD in my area. Checking around the forums, it seems to preform well for other MSTS users so with it's cheap price, I figured I didn't have much to lose giving it a try. I have put the MSTS.bin enhanced sounds back in MSTS and so far it has been working fine. It was an unexpected but nice bonus that it has also improved flight simming on my computer.
