Day 11 of the National Air Tour has crept upon us so I must say a fond farewell to my good friends at Wendell-Williams Airfield. A big salute goes to them for covering most of my bar bill which for some reason grew way beyond my means of support. Our schedule has us heading toward Shreveport Municipal Field. According to the information that I have, this airfield is brand new and will be officially dedicated today as part of the celebration of the arrival of the National Air Tour planes. Hey, that's nice, they've left the light on for us. Seems to be alot of activity going on down there. Can't wait to land and see what's going on. As I taxi to the hanger and cut the engine, the smell of oil and gas is replaced with the tantalizing aroma of hamburgers, hot dogs and funnel cakes! Plus the sound of music and laughter fill the air. I quickly rent an auto from the office and make may way over to the crowd. Now This is what I call a CELEBRATION!!! I may be a pilot but you'll never get me up in one of those wheels Hummm...horsey rides or boat rides...guess I'll do both. Floating chairs?!? I wonder if he could teach me how to do that with my plane when it runs out of gas? A midway full of wonder. Just what I need to make a few extra greenbacks! They've thought of everything...a free place for the cranky kids to play. I think that we all owe Mr. MoCat a big THANK YOU ;D for this and all the sceneries that he has created up to this point. I know that you all will enjoy this scenery...have fun...I know I did. Bill
