We finish up NAT day 19 with a flight to Davenport, Iowa. This was quite a trip for my little plane and the sight of our final destination for today has me grinning from ear to ear. Not only is my stomach running on empty but my little red bird is running on fumes too. Even though I'm tired and hungry, now is not the time to be sloppy with my airmanship. I run low over the hanger to make sure this is the Davenport field. First things first. I rumble up to the gas station to give my baby a drink... If I treat her good then she'll treat me better! While I'm paying for my petrol I'm thankful for the nice big windows on the inside. It helps me keep watch on the red bird while I'm away. Don't want to her to be left alone for too long. It's really quite peaceful in this part of the country. Alright now that the fueling is over with it's time for a little maintenance work before bedtime. It's hard to believe but we're getting close to the end of this race. Anyway, time to plan for tomorrows flights and get a little shut eye. Bill
