I just got through watching the movie "One Six Right", and it is also kind of a lobby to the American People to teach tjem about the importance of General Aviation, when so many people are trying to get small airports shut down because they don't like the noise. It is a documentury about Van Nuys Airport (KVNY), which is the world's busiest airport, and has only served genreal aviation aircraft and military since the 20's. A plane departs or arrives every 45 seconds. It has such a historical value, that after watching the movie, I fell in love with it and the people who are regulars there. I live in Kansas and probabally will never get to see it, but I was thinking, if someone made a FS 9 airport for flight sim golden wings of Van Nuys, that would be really neat, since it was such a cornerstone during the Golden Days of aviation, and remains so today. And if you haven't seen One Six Right, I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who loves the Golden Age!

I am only an hours drive from Van Nuys (I live in Redlands). So I guess I am lucky to be close to that airport? I will have to get that DVD, sounds great. Flabob(KRIR) airport in Riverside,CA is an old timer airport too! I am going to be taking my flying lessons at Flabob, everyone else in our family has.

Hey thats pretty cool, have you ever visited Flabob? Maybe you will see me watching the airplanes land and take off next time you go there ;D I think Flabob is a pretty antique airport, they say it's a good place to fly in for a $100 hamburger I think their website has some information about their history, it's www.flabob.org/home.html ---------

Sure.... I've been to Flabob many times.... haven't been there for a while though. I have a daughter that is mentally handicapped........ she likes truck rides and airplanes.... we visit A LOT of airports. We seem to hang out at French Valley the most. No One knows who I am by name....... just Megan's Dad...... and that's okay with me. (smile)
Take care,
