It's been a while since I did any long multi leg flights so a little over a week ago, I decided to do a coast to coast flight of the U.S. I have been working on it when ever I've had the time for these longer flights. I started at San Fransisco and have planned each flight from the destination of the last one. My goal is to reach New York City and I am currently at Dallas. It's a lot of fun planning these flights and doing them. I thought I'd show a few pictures of my progress. This flight is in modern FS9, as I wanted to tour the U.S. in the present, but I might fly back to my starting point in GW when I'm finished. At San Fransisco, traffic was terrible and it seemed forever before I actually got to take off. Somewhere over the SW U.S. as the sun sets. I hurried to park the plane, so I could go see the lights of the city at Las Vegas. At twilight the next day, somewhere over New Mexico. Landing at Dallas. I plan to start for Little Rock bright and early in the morning so I can enjoy the scenery.

That looks like a fun trip, but isn't it going to take a long time without speeding up the simulation? Makes me want to take a trip like that, probably will try it over the weekend. Good luck on your trip

Good Luck on your trip KBR. That's about the only flying I do anymore..... started doing it that way years ago and truly enjoy it. (I'm currently in South America..... took off from Hemet, CA a few weeks back) It's always amazing at the scenery you find along the way. Found a really neat waterfall last evening and some pretty cool airports.
Best of luck!

Nice shots there. I got hooked into longer distance flying when i started to properly fly my Beech 1900.
I plan on crossig the US soon, starting by going from here (houston) to like ohio, then most likely continuing on to other places.

Thanks for the comments.
scubakobe, I prefer not to speed up time because it ruins the allusion of realism for me. The legs are from 300 to 500nm each and since the plane I chose for this flight can cover 500nm in two hours, it's not that long. it's best to set the legs of your flight to a distance you feel most comfortable flying.
sgtmajor, it is a lot of fun. Sometimes I'm surprised to with what I discover. The last leg, I did, from Dallas to Little Rock, was mostly just mud and dead trees. I should have waited another month before starting this flight. ;D
Jakemaster, who made the Beech 1900 that you have? Just wondering as I hadn't heard about it.
