I have recently purchased a new video card, the ATI Radeon X1300 Pro, and with the help of [glow=red,2,300]Jakemaster[/glow], I got Flight simulator to have amazingly good quality! Thanks Jakemaster Well, here are some pictures to show off the quality (Note the jagged edges are just because of compression in the screenshot)

THanks for the comment Spad. And yes, actually the biggest reason I bought the card was so I could be ready for transparencies in Windows Vista, and awesome graphics in FSX, I presume. STill makes a great difference in FS9 though!

What did you have before (I have the X700)
Funny...the X700 pro is about the same price (what's the difference?)

Jordon, I don't think there is a big difference between the X700 Pro and X1300 Pro. I think that the X1300 Pro can handle higher graphic settings better, but as for weather conditions, I think FS (at highest settings) runs best in complete fog It sometimes gets low fps on clear days My old card was the ATI Radeon X300.

Just asking myself if I should upgrade (So far, I think the answer's no)

Nice shots. I prefer ATI Radeon cards myself. Though the one I am using is starting to age a bit, it gives me very nice graphics. In my personal tastes, the ATI Radeon graphics seem to be more colorful and more alive than Nvidia. I've used both. I prefer ATI when I can get it, but I end up using Nvidia a lot because it's cheaper.

Kbr, that's interesting. I have never had a Nvidia card partly because I thought they were expensive. Its nice to hear your opinion on ATI cards too, may lead me to sticking with ATI cards in the future.

On the other hand, (beauty is subjective) I have not used an ATI card since FS98 Sold on nVidia here.

I agree, as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ;D For anyone who hasn't it's always a good idea to take a look at both brands just to see which you like best. My emergency back up card is a Nvidia FX5200, not a fast card by any means, but it does the job. My main card is a ATI Radeon 9500pro. It does a pretty good job for the price I paid for it. My current computer does not support PCI Ex and I will probably stay with my current card until I get a motherboard that does support it.
