After spending a few days in Kicking Horse Pass, I decided to check out Rogers Pass, which I got about the same time. I have to say that this is a beautiful route. MLT has even done things with the textures that I was not aware could be done in MSTS. I am currently working through an activity that will take me from one end of the route to the other. This was one of the included cabs. I rather like it as it goes well with my Raildriver. ;D Even included a stove to keep the tea warm.

Looks nice, Kevin. It is beautiful and great trees!! One question I have, are the trees and general generic scenery items of a specific MSTS package 'specific' to only that package/route or can they be applied to all routes in MSTS? It would be a shame to have such great trees, tracks, etc. as seen here, available only to this route. Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

I can say I will be getting more of MTL's stuff in the future.

Wow, driven that route a few times in both winter and summer. MSTS sure looks great.

Dan, Kevin. You can use whatever trees you like, in whatever route you like. A bloke by the name of Sinclair (I think!) has created a whole forest of tree shapes for not only the MLT routes but others. It's just a matter of editing appropriate file references. Yeah...it's Mike Sinclair and he has over 260 Environment files to his credit. Here's a typical "Install" for a new tree job. INSTALLATION:
1. Ensure that my ace files that come from my SNOW folders go ONLY into the three Winter seasonal sub-folders--SNOW, WINTER, and WINTERSNOW which are located in the top left-hand corner of the Main Textures Folder from the route of your choice.
2. The Ace files that come from my SUMMER folders go directly into the Main Textures folder of the route of your choice.
3. My Shape files go into the SHAPES folder of the route of your choice.
4. Copy and paste over the Ref file data into the route's Ref.file (making sure parenthesis match).Bruce

That is great news!! ;D
I found a number of Sinclair's trees and am going to look for some of his other environmental files. Great work he's done! I found some better looking grass last night - "Real Grass": Marias Pass Grass Texture Replacement by Judd Spittler at Train-Sim. Sure made a difference!
Thanks for the information and instructions, Bruce!

Thanks for the information, Bruce. That will be handy to know as I can already think of a few routes that I'd like to replace the trees in.

Those instructions are a sample of what Mike has written in one of his typical ReadMe files. I just copied and pasted here. Bruce
