Three sequential Activities which span the Maple Leaf Tracks routes of Kicking Horse Pass, Roger's Pass and Shuswap are now available from www.train-sim.com . Rolling stock is all sourced from the Shuswap package, as the era represented is 1966. You can run them as individual Activities, so long as you have the Shuswap route for the content or are capable of changing the make-up of the consists, using the Activity Editor or Route Riter. Thanks, Bruce. I'm looking forward to trying them out. I don't have Shuswap yet, but I am planning to get it. In the meantime, I can swap the content in the consists with some of MLT's other CP stuff in the first two activities until I do get Shuswap.

I just finished editing the first activity so that I could run it without Shuswap. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow. I kept the original files so that once I get Shuswap I can put them back in and do the activities as they were intended. I downloaded a couple freeware cp engines so that I could keep the 1966 feel of the activity (hope I got the consist right.) Thanks again.

Kevin, Is that an ALCo PA/PB? The nose has a definite edge to it. Looks nice, whatever. That's a beaut shot.....almost like a water-colour painting. Is the sky texture the default or are you using a third-party environment pack? One thing about running this Activity without the actual route........there are loose consists dotted along the way which also use Shuswap 'stock. Loose consists are a pain in the neck to change......trying to do it with the Activity Editor just causes it to CTD and pop up the dreaded "Send/Don't Send" message. How did you overcome this? Bruce

Thanks. The engine is Chris Lee's FM CFA 16-4. The file name on Train-sim is 'fmcfacpa.zip' Here's a picture of a real one; www.divisionpoint.com/photos/FM_Cs/CPR_4079%5BCFA16-4%5D.jpgI'm still hunting for a cab good as the one I downloaded to use looks nice but I can't see any lettering on the guages. For the sky I am using 'How in The World's' 'Golden Clear Sky' applied with Cosmos. 'How in The World's environment textures can be found on Avsim. If you get them, you'll need Cosmos to apply them to MSTS. I think it can be found on Train-sim. The way I replaced the loose consist is to open up the activity with a text editor and replace them manually. In this case, what I did was open up a couple of KHP and RP activities and copied simular cars from those over the Shuwap ones, except for the Russell plow which I replaced with a freeware one (since there wasn't one in KHP ot RP.)

Nice loco, Kev. I must get it. I am tending to use the one author's cabs for my freeware locos, and that is the stuff made by Dwight Mitchell. He does a lovely job....and has a wide range of types. (He was the one who did the Little Joe cabs). He has made a Fairbanks-Morse cab, for the CF-16A, perfectly suitable for this loco. Aaah! I thought I'd seen it before. I had that package several years ago. Blimey....of course!!! I never even thought of that yet I'm sure I've done that before! DOH!! Thanks, Kevin. Bruce

Glad to be of help, Bruce and thanks for the tip on the cab. I really liked his Little Joe cab, it's one of the best freeware ones I've seen, so I'll check out his CF-16A, as you said that should be more than suitable.
