The LTV Mining Co. addon that I was waiting for came yesterday and I've had a little time to play around with it. The biggest problem with this addon is that the route has the feel of being incomplete. There are no mile posts, signs or lights. Also in many places the terrain mesh sticks up hiding good chunks of the rails. Those problems aside, I found myself actually enjoying the route quite a bit. It's filled with hills that provide plenty of steep grades making the trip from one end to the other quite the challenge. You have to keep up speed, or you won't make it over the grades, however, too much speed will derail you. For the load I was currently hauling, 50mph seemed to be pretty ideal. Here are some shots to enjoy from a activity I did today (I was hauling a load from the mines to the harbor.) Despite it's problems, I found myself enjoying this route but also because of the problems, I really can't recommend it to others. The LTV Mining Co. Railroad is a real piece of train history and it's a real shame that 3Dtrains dropped the remake they were doing. It would have been wonderful to have this route with the kind of detail they do. Still for the little I paid for it, I'm happy with it and it's something new to play around with until Feather River gets here.

Looks nice, Kevin. I sure do like that train & cab. 3DTrains has a couple of similar ones that I've got my eye on. Shoot, I've got my eyes on so many trains and trains and trains, I'm starting to get confused . . . Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

I know the feeling, there are a number of other addons that I have had my eye on for MSTS. A couple at the top of the list are MLT's Shuswap and All Aboard's Ohio Railroad upgrade. The Geeps in the LVT packages I don't think were made by 3Dtrains. The exteriors are fine, but the cabs left a bit to be desired; I replaced them with this nice cab by Dwight Mitchell.

That Geep cab is based on the default GP38, Kevin. If you are enjoying what you paid $14 for then you've got your money's worth. It is a pity that the route has never been "completed", as it were. Regards, Bruce

Regards, Bruce I've been enjoying it, though I wouldn't call it the best addon in my library. I kind of figured that about the gp20 cab (being based on the default gp38), but unlike the default one, that one had a sort of drawn or cartoonist look to it. Mitchell's cab makes the GP20s a lot funner to use.
