From what I have been reading, in my C:\program files\microsoft games\ train simulator there should be a file called Editors and Tools. Not on mine. Also checked the disks and there are no files of that nature either. Am I missing something or is it a separate download? Thanks

For a long time I thought that there was a seperate file for starting the tools and editor. But actually it is started with a suffix command to the main program. There should be an icon in your start menu under Microsoft Games/Train Simulator/ called "Train Simulator Editors & Tools" that will start it for you. If you do not have this, make a copy of the icon you use to start MSTS and rename it to the above. Next right click on it and open the properties. Now add -runeditor to the end the entery under "Target:" to look like below; "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\launcher.exe" -runeditor The above is set to the default location, so if you installed anywhere else be sure not to change the first part. Now hit the "OK" button. This will give you an icon for starting the tools and editor.

Meryl, This is what the Target command line is in my Desktop shortcut:- "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\launcher.exe" -runeditor
In your Train simulator folder there's an EXE file called "Launcher.exe". Clicking on that brings up a small window which allows you to Troubleshoot, Change Video Driver or Play Train Simulator. But there is nothing there that accesses the Editors directly.
So create a shortcut for that Launcher, right-click on that new shortcut, open Properties and add that -runeditor to the end. There's a space between the end quote marks and the hyphen before "run".

Yeah we were probably typing it at the same time. ;D
Hey Bruce, do you know if there is a separate update for the editor? I wanted to give your idea a try and replace some trains in some of the activities with my London to Peterborough route with a Deltic train set. That would really give a new feel to them. But every time I try to load an activity from that route into the AE, it crashes.

Kevin, as far as I am aware there has never been an update to any of the Editors.
Have you run that route and it's activities through a check with Route Riter? Sounds to me as if there could be a glitch somewhere.
