Hi Gang, I'm not sure this railroad simulation had been mentioned, but it has been in existance for some years now. Freight Yard Manager is a good program for you control freaks out there. It's based on each player has control of one or more yard areas, and trains are passed from one yardmaster to the other. The simulation uses satellite maps for the backgrounds, and different colored lines to identify the trackage. It can get extremely complicated, or as simple as you like. This is a good program for any low-end computer users. You get the feel of operating trains, while not having to deal with the high-end graphics problems. The game is fully functional, and comes with several user creation tools, as in the map maker tool. There are complete tutorials on how to get started, and even a Yahoo! group for the users.
