I am trying to piece together enough photos to repaint the Restauravia Fouga CM-170 Magister in the scheme of two airplanes I used to see every day. I've pieced together some of the history of them and am hoping that someone has better pics than I do of them.
The first aircraft was N403PF. It appears to be FM-29, built in Finland. I think it was originally registered in the US as N403DM, by Dean Martin's Warplanes, Inc. in March of 1987. By the time I worked for Summit Aviation in Middletown, DE, in the mid-90's, it was registered as N403PF and belonged to the president of the company, Pat Fowley. It was painted in an unusual camouflage scheme with green, brown and yellow over robins' egg blue. I think this paint scheme may have been used by the Israelis on their Magisters. However, the airplane did not have national insignia, but an odd bird/knife roundel instead. This aircraft has since been sold off and repainted in the Patrouille de France paint scheme.
The second aircraft is N305DM. It is FM-32, also built in Finland and sold to Dean Martin's Warplanes in March of 1987. It was based at Summit at roughly the same time frame as N403PF. It was painted all black with a gold stripe on the wings (and I think tail). I do not know when this airplane left or where it is now.
I'm also looking for any photos of US-registered Fougas. If anyone has some to share- or knows a Fouga owner that I can contact, please let me know.
Thanks!
