Hello! First - excuse me for my English. I am speak English not very good, but I can try to explane a problem. I have a problem with MSFS 2004. When I set a visibility distance to 16 kilometers(10 miles), I cant see the sky. This is as a fog. But when I set a distance to 32 km(20 miles), then I see a clear sky. How I can change this distance? Or I cant make it? Thanks beforehand!

Hi Waldemar! welcome to the TOH!
This is something interesting; let's see if someone can be of some help for you. I have a few ideas about visibility issues.
1- Visibility is readed in miles when you use the default "weather.mdl"; so if you fly, let's say, in Europe downloading real weather, you always have a wrong visibility layer because the default module reads in miles what Jeppesen is offering in kilometers. That can be corrected by installing an alternative weather module that reads kilometers (the file can be found at http://www.fsnordic.net; do a search for "FS2004 METAR visibility fix" by Sami Ylismäki). Back up the original just in case you'll want to fly in the USA, Canada or Japan.
2- Visibility is a cloud texture; so, if you have installed some alternatives textures set for the clouds, you can also try other packages to see if that's your problem.
3- Don't panic...there's a solution for everything!

Thanks for answer and help!
No, this is not texture. I have installed my personal graphic pack, but original MSFS have that problem also.
I will try to find wheather.dll.

OK, I have got new Wheather.dll But I dont understand whats changed? When I load the real weather I will have a "normal" visibility? Or its working always, even I set the weather myself? Sorry for my English once again

It only works when downloading Online Real Weather.
If you still have that problem when flying with a default weather theme, then I think there's some string that has to change in your settings, What are your visibility settings in the Configuration screen?

Good, but how does it work with real weather Its remove the 16km visibility from METAR data, and set it to unlimited? I have 60 miles visibility display settings. I changed that to the greater value - this is not effective.

Hi Waldemar, your setting looks right, Not sure what it can be; may be some other guy may help you. My only idea is to try other clouds sets to see how it goes; may be you changed some texture without noticing.

Maybe it is a graphics card issue, FOG, or EXPFOG, or something like that, just a thought. I had an ATI card once that had problems with not showing clouds, and it turned out to be the fog issue, which was handled in the cfg file. I just set both FOG & EXPFOG to 1 in the cfg [DISPLAY DEVICE]. Or maybe a Render to Texture issue.

It has no my graphic card (ATI) in display.cfg. ATI Radeon Win2k/XP only...
But it has no line like "ExpFog" or "TableFog" in this section. Can I add this lines? Or I must add to other file? FS9.cfg as an example?

I used Fog=1, & ExpFog=1 and added those lines to the [DISPLAY DEVICE] entry of the FS9.cfg, not sure about the TableFog.

You're thinking of Tablefog=0 The best way I found to control visability is fsuipc. It's about $30 but works great. You can set it differently for clear, cloudy etc.
