Over the weekend, I tried installing MSTS on both my XP Pro x64 drive, and my Vista Home x64. At first, the darn thing wouldn't take control commands, I thought well here we go again. So, I spent some time looking over the program entry in the registration, and it's compatability issues. I also installed the update. After changing the compatability to Windows 98, and setting administrator rights in looked like Train Sim was going to be fine. But, the control issue was still a problem. I found if I had simple controls checked in the Options I had problems with operating the controls. Now, everything is fine except the switching display window is a bit slow at responding even thought the sim is runnng at 60FPS and above with all the sliders up all the way. Looks great. Now, I want to see how the editor works in x64. This ought to be a new experience for me, even though I had used it quite extensively on my old machine, mostly personal railroads I had built as models.
I have the old version of the Middle Division, and will try to install it. It will be a good test to see how my machine handles the scenery.
