Hello,
I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS. After playing around with the setting on the control tab, I noticed that when I am flying in GW I get flashing textures and jagged lines with the airplane and scenery. I cannot recall which setting I changed. I though that the antialiasing impacts the jagged lines. I would appreciate your help in correcting this issue. Thank you for your help.
Sincerely, Walter

What are your in-game settings, and video card panel (ATI's panel is called "Catalyst Control Center") settings?

Hi Dave,
I followed your suggestions outlined in the other thread and still get the jagged lines.

Walter, I'm no expert but I (or hopefully, we) will help if I can. The settings I use are for the most part recommended by others more knowledgeable than I.
What Forceware driver version do you have installed?
Can you post your current settings?
Could you post a screenshot or 2.
Dave

I suffered from this particular issue only at certain added sceneries (not default). I can't say why, but I guess the author added some DXT1 or other type bmp files my video card doesn't manages too well (and I have an ATI one).

Hi Dave,
What is a forceware driver and where would I look to find out which version I have?
I am away from the computer with GW installed. Nonetheless, I believe the settings are the same as specified in your directions. When I get the opportunity, I will verify the settings and post a couple of screenshots which show the jagged lines and flashing textures.Thank you so much for your help.
Sincerely, Walter

How long have you had 163.75 and did your current jaggies and flickers start with the installation of 163.75?
Dave
Append: Your image definetly indicates your hardware AA is not working.

Hi, I installed 163.75 fairly recently, that is to say, last weekend. I installed the drivers from the DVD which came with one of the monthly editions of PC Pilot. Comming to think of it, I did not notice the jagged lines and flashing textures prior to installing the new drivers.

I think the driver installation is your problem.
From what I've read, the later Nvidia drivers (1xx.xx) install profiles for FS9 and FSX. When you start FS9 any settings you have made are over ridden by the profile. The profiles cannot be edited or deleted from the Nvidia control panel.
My guess the profile has AA set to 'application controlled'. You could try turning on AA in the FS9 Display settings, though it won't give you the quality of hardware AA, and will effect FPS. Or you could try a restore point.
The only fix(es) I know of is to either revert back to an earlier driver (9x.xx) or to get 'Nhancer', that will allow you to edit the profile.

Dave,
I was able to fix the problem of the jagged lines by restoring the original drivers
Nhancer did not work.
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely, Walter
