Some of the planes have minipanels with a 450mph ASI. Planes cruise at 100mph or so. I open panel.cfg but can't find a minipanel. have tried copying one from S39 into a new mumbered window in panel.cfg but only thing I can do is make default minipanel disappear. You guys have had all the answers to my questions so far--Thanks for help-- and here's another one. How do I change that 450mph ASI or get a whole new minipanel in place?
Thanks.... Mitch

Aircraft get their minipanel from 1 of 2 places.
If an aircrafts panel.cfg has a minipanel defined it will use that one. If there is no minipanel in the panel.cfg the sim calls one of the default minipanels from ...\Aircraft\Default\panel.cfg.
The reason the S-39 minipanel (which calls Ford_Trimotor gauges) showed blank is the Ford_Trimotor.cab file is in the \Ford_Trimotor\panel\ folder so couldn't be found. Copy the Ford_Trimotor.cab to the \Gauges\ folder.
The default minipanels use rather generic gauges. The ASI used registers 450 so that will be usable in most any aircraft. You can edit the \default\panel.cfg just like any other, so you could fit it with gauges more suitable to the era.
As seen in the notations in the \Default\panel\panel.cfg you could even create new sections that are more specific to the different types of aircraft.

Thanks. I'm a slow learner, but finally got the Ford minipanel in as window 2 and it displaced the 450mph job . Where are you in WI? used to live in Green bay and Appleton. Flew with friends off the river in GRB, went fishing in N Ontario. Long time ago. regards... Mitch

Mitch, nice to hear you got it working.
I'm in NW WI, about 60 mi SE of Duluth/Superior. Local airport is Cable Union, 3CU (ergo the moniker). Born and raised in the Madison area. 'Got outta Dodge' and moved here about 35 years ago. Have spent a little time in the GB area...the occasional Packer game, and work related trips to De Pere...years ago. Also, a few visits to Appleton, as a brother-in-law worked at G&L. Again, years ago.
Cheers, Dave
