While playing around with the T6 racers, I have also been devoting some time to "What would a plane like this look like, when she's just been dragged out of storage in Arizona. Top up the fluids, wipe her down with an oily rag and if she starts, you get to fly her home... That said... In the final analysis, it doesn't look to grotty - well, she's just been wiped down, hasn't she? But it was surprising to see how many effects I ended up adding...

Thanks for enjoying them folks... ...and now that I have a VERY good source for detail imagery, guess what: I am going for a wee bit more detail... I have to remove a few lines, add a few (thousand) rivets, make some cross-head screws, add some camlok fasteners for the QA panels and cowlings and remove some of the non-matching detail from the old planes.

Taking it a stage further - changes to the colour, dents, rivets, bumpmaps and panel shapes... (getting there)

WOW... That really looks great Chris. Maybe with about a 100 more years of practice I can get something to turn out nice. (smile)
So much I still need to learn!
Cheers!!

Faded paint skin and yellow "Midnight Rendezvous" are now on Avsim along with "Midnight Miss III" And when you are testing your various paints, be careful when exporting - for instance - bumpmaps. This is what a bumpmap looks like, when it is saved as the main paint... fuselage_t.dds instead of fuselage_bump.dds
