I deleted an aircraft before I realized that it was the current start up aircraft for FS9 ... unlike FS2002, fs9 doesn't go to the default 172. Aside from downloading and reinstalling the deleted aircraft and leaving it in long enough to bring up flightsim and then set a new start-up aircraft. Is there another method??

Dale,
Open the FS9.cfg file and delete the 'SITUATION=' line, which is the pointer to your 'custom' default flight. The sim will then start in the 'default' default flight, C172 @ Seattle.

Excellent - thank you, will save this response. I downloaded the aircraft, changed the file name to correspond the deleted file and it worked ... however, this is good information to know.
