Although I have been spending most of my sim-time over the past couple of weeks in the air instead of on the rails, I have recently been dabbling in narrow-gauge......Colorado NG to be specific. For those of you who love the sight and sound of the old steamers that served the mining areas of Colorado you can do a lot worse than download and install the Colorado & Southern route created by Don Karch. Don started this network two years ago, publishing the first section in November 2006. Since then he has added additional sections in September & December 2007, March 2008 and, most recently, 30th. June 2008. Couple this route with some of the excellent Colorado-type NG locos and 'stock that are available at www.train-sim.com and you have a wonderful start to North American narrow-gauge for Train Simulator. It makes a relaxing alternative to running modern BNSF or UP diesel-hauled freights across California. Here's a map of the network....... Bruce

Thanks for the information and map, Bruce!
Downloading right now! ;D Being from Colorado and attending college in the mountains west of Denver, I'm very familiar with the South Park area and that railroad. I can still remember seeing many an old road bed from that narrow gauge as I traveled back and forth to school. But, that was over 40 years ago, so who knows what's left now. I'm anxious to load this up soon and check it out.
I downloaded a number of Narrow Gauge engines and cars awhile back - I'll have to 'historically' assemble a consist and see how accurate this route is.

Thanks for the info. I'm also in flight mode right now, but when I get back on track, I'll have to check this out.

It's a very laid back Train Sim experience, this narrow-gauge stuff. I find it quite relaxing. Bruce

Did someone say "relaxing"? That's exactly what I need! One hell of a busy work week and another one coming up - none stop! So, this sounds even better then it did before, Bruce! SgtMajor, I know exactly what you mean! I wish I had the time to realize the time that has gotten away! Time - Time = 0 (Einstein figured that out just before he figured out the relativity of time to the negative - in other words, an abyss - void of anything relative!)
