I recently blew away ALL my FS9 installations and did a fresh install from scratch.
Now, I can't zoom in or out using the mouse wheel. To get closer to or further away from the aircraft I have to use the keys.
I don't recall installing any other software that enabled this, so am curious as to why it doesn't work any more.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks. Bruce

Active Camera? It's not in the default.

That's what's got me puzzled.....I've never bought Active Camera, Tom. I wonder if there was a demo version and it left an artifact of some description in my previous installation. Oh well....guess I'll have to download something that does this type of stuff because I really miss that mouse-wheel zomm. Bruce

Bruce, I looked through a couple of publications I had on FS2004 - and nothing on the mouse/wheel view/activation, etc., so did a search at AVSIM's FS2004 forum and found this, which rang a bell, since I originally used this a long time ago before I got Active Camera. This sounded familiar and you may not have installed it in your new installation, but did so with your old installation. Here is the file they mentioned - it's F1View which is free. www.flight1software.com/files/F1View.zipAnd, if it doesn't work, here is the topic/reference # (AVSIM doesn't reproduce the exact HTTP address to the topic) to the subject that mentions the mouse wheel and the file. Microsoft Flight Simulators - The FS2004 (FS9) Forum - topic #26233. Dan …it’s great being a kid again – without the glue! ;D

Dan, you ARE the man! Thank you...that was the utility I had installed way, way back. I found it on one of my FSim download-collection CD's. Many thanks. Bruce

Your very welcome, Bruce! Glad to hear it worked!! Funny though, after messing around last night with my mouse, active camera, and the various other FS9 configurational options in trying to diagnose your problem (before I searched Avsim) I went back to the plane I was flying and couldn't get 'my' mouse to stop moving the VC all around. Even though the joystick worked fine, when ever I moved the mouse to move the throttles up or down, the whole VC would move - the mouse moved the entire cockpit everywhere - drove me nuts. So, I went to bed thinking it was that damn African curse . . . But, it works fine today after booting up - must of been something I clicked while fooling around with everything - seems I can remember things from a long time ago better then I can remember what I did 20 minutes ago.
