Bill Lyons created his account in August 2005 so that may be about the time this forum became The Old Hangar's 3rd incarnation. Previous to that it was called Maine Scenery and was home to my FS98-FS2000-FS2002 scenery files. In those days there were only a dozen members.
The original version of The Old Hangar opened Nov 24 1998 on the long defunct flightsimmers.net. Christopher Tarana ran TOH in the middle period over at flightsim.com. When he was unable to continue, I moved it over here just in time for GW3. At 17+ years we are one of the oldest MSFS related website still going.
BTW, Slide stopped by a couple years ago to say hi. The real world was consuming all his time.

That's quite a wonderful achievement, Tom.
I have a nice feeling that the forthcoming release(s), whilst not being strictly "MS Flight Simulator", will see this forum continue well into the future.

Yes indeed Tom. I can't remember exactly what year I first bumped into the wonderful work you and Bill did....however, it was before The Old Hanger days. The first scenery I used and remember was some for the U.S. Mail routes around Moline, Ill. As I recall, there was some AI traffic and you could follow the mail beacons on a clear night all the way to Chicago. (smile) From there I found your Maine Scenery and it was history. From that point on I would always keep a look out for your name as well as Bill's and grab everything I could lay my hands on. (smile)
Cheers,

2005 was the big growth year. Steve & Bruce, you both joined up that year as did Vin, Damien, Leon, Roger M & Roger L. Must be when GW3 came out.
